Amaravati JAC Convenor Dr. Kolikapudi Srinivas shot to instant fame all over Telugu States after hitting BJP leader Vishnu Vardhan Reddy with his chappal during a TV debate. In his latest clarification, Srinivas has clarified that he lost his cool after he was very insensibly branded as a ‘paid artist’. That too, Vishnu called him a ‘paid artist’ working for the Telugu Desam Party.

Srinivas cautioned the YCP and anti-Amaravati leaders against making defamatory and hurtful comments against the Capital City agitators. Actually, Jaganmohan Reddy offered the Tadikonda ticket to Srinivas in the 2019 election. He sent Mopidevi Venkata Ramana to him to accept the offer but he did not come forward. At that time, Srinivas actively took part in TV debates on Sakshi media in favour of the YCP.

After the YCP came to power, Srinivas supported most of the Jagan Reddy programmes. But, when it came to the Capital shifting issue, Srinivas was greatly disturbed. He visited Tadikonda area for two months and was greatly moved by their plight. Then, he took a total plunge into the agitation against the 3 Capitals.

Srinivas said that he had left his lucrative profession of teaching Civils aspirants and now unable to pay the tuition fee of his own daughter. When Vishnu made such remarks without knowing his background, he was very unhappy. For over a year, Vishnu has been making needless comments hurting the Capital City agitators. Srinivas thought most people of the State were not bothering about the Capital problem. But after the latest chappal incident, he was receiving hundreds of calls and messages expressing solidarity.
