NTR Biopic Audio

NTR Biopic is one of the most anticipated projects in Tollywood featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the title role. Music for the film is composed by M.M.Keeravani and directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. The film is also produced by Balakrishna at a big scale and lot of hopes are coming up on its release.

The album begins on a softer note with Kathanayaka sung by the power packed singer Kailash Kher. The song is beautifully composed in Raaga Mohana and usage of old style instruments like clarinet, harp, and efficient string section is one of the biggest advantages of it. Keeravani’s typical usage of violin in the song is present even in this song. Writers K.Shivadatta and Dr. K.Ramakrishna deliver a fantastic work with the usage of right terms. The interludes are quite pleasantly woven with strings and as the song progresses, richness of orchestration is quite evident. Lyrically, the song hails Sr.NTR’s versatility as an actor and his determination in being perfect in every role he played.

Vendithera Dora is a melancholic number sung by M.M.Keeravani himself and speaks volumes about pain, sadness of the sufferers. Interestingly, the song is based only with grand piano and Keeravani does a commendable job emoting sadness and as it progresses, the tension builds up high with efficient string section.

It is time for a classy touch with Keeravani’s take on the all time greatest Thyagaraja composition Bantureeti Koluvu with impressive arrangements and K.S.Chitra’s fantastic rendition. Sirivennela Sitaramasastry does a fantastic job with altering the lyrics without tampering with original composition. The usage of veena, flute, and rich strings is once again evident in the song. Keeravani’s take on this composition is exemplary. Srreenidhi Tirumala’s classical vocals bring a youthful touch to the song as well. The neraval style of singing between the two lead vocalists is quite brilliant- and a rare finding in Telugu film songs off late.

The classy song Kathanyaka arrives again with female vocalists Sreenidhi, Mohana Bhogaraju and Ramya Behara at their best. In terms of orchestration, the song has nothing new to offer but the vocalists bring a new dimension to the composition. The three vocals sound sublime in unison and bring about a different aspect to the song and the feeling of heroics.

Ramanna Kadha is a narrative style composition which has nostalgic instruments like harmonium, clarinet and jaltarang. Chitra and and Sunitha give their best to this fantastic number. The song is effectively composed in Raaga Abheri which reminds us of the black and white numbers like Ravoyi Chandamama in Missamma. All in all, Keeravani deserves a praise for giving a new twist for such nostalgic thought.

The album brings a transformative effect with Chaitanya Radham– a motivating number which depicts the political changes with the entry of Sr.NTR in the scene. Sirivennela Sitaramasastry’s story like lyrics is a biggest add on. The song also has a folksy touch to it with usage of flute, strings, and surprisingly, the bass guitar deserves a good mention as well. The charanam brings a new pathway with a changeover in the tune and blends flawlessly to the lead motif.

The finale occurs with the already popular number Rajarshi which brings the feeling of power and hailing of the title hero with trademark Keeravani style. The song is composed in Suddha Dhanyasi raagam which is one of the favourites of Keeravani off late. However, the orchestration is the one which stands out quite effectively and replete with horns, drums, and old style instruments used in good vigor.

Verdict:

NTR Biopic is a strong album from Keeravani and is high on quality lyrics, singers and of course- the majestic presentation.

Our Picks: Kathanayaka (Kailash Kher version), Bantureethi Koluvu, Rajarshi , Chaitanya Radham
