With a senior producer like Ashwini Dutt making ‘Mahanati’, a biopic on legendary actress Savitri, there is an undying curiosity among movie loves over who would essay the characters of NTR and ANR. The name of NTR Jr was vehemently doing rounds to essay his grandfather’s character until the makers have recently denied this speculation.
Given the good relation between Dutt’s family and NTR Jr, the senior producer has reportedly tried his best to convince the Young Tiger to reprise his grandfather’s role. NTR had acted in the last two production ventures of Dutt’s Vyjayanthi Movies banner – ‘Kantri’ and ‘Shakthi’. Despite this professional as well as personal acquaintance, NTR turned down the crucial cameo in ‘Mahanati’. Movie goers might be wondering, what could have been the reason?
As per our reliable sources, NTR cited that he neither has the stature nor the maturity to play his legendary grandfather on silver screen. In spite of Dutt’s request, NTR has been adamant about his decision. As Dutt couldn’t find any other actor who can do justice to Sr NTR’s role, he has decided to wait till the very end of filming for the Young Tiger to change his mind.
