The epic trailer of Bollywood’s upcoming period saga ‘Padmavati’, which was unveiled yesterday, is setting YouTube on fire with millions of views.

The three minute trailer, which offers an eye feast for its grand canvas, mesmerising visuals, long shot battle episodes, beeline retinues etc, has already clocked close to 14 million views( and counting) in YouTube in less than 24 hours. The trailer became a top trend in social media immediately after its launch. At the current rate, the mind numbing trailer is more likely to set several new records in terms of its views and likes in YouTube.

Starring an ensemble cast in the form of Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh etc, Padmavati is based on the 14th century folklore of the life of Rani Padmini, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen. It is heard that the film is an unofficial remake of Tamil film Chittor Rani Padmini.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director for this magnum opus which is getting ready to hit the screens in December.
