Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a monthly pension of Rs1000 along with housing and ration card facilities for the transgender community in the state. He directed all the collectors to ensure that they avail the government schemes.
The plea was passed onto the Chief Minister by Kadapa district collector T Babaurao Naidu on behalf of the transgender community. Naidu instructed officials to map out their presence in districts and ensure that the transgenders will avail the government schemes.
This is a welcome move to help transgender community get them into the social mainstream by treating them equally and providing better standards of living. With this move, Naidu assured that the is one of the progressive Chief Minister in the country.
