Superstar Rajinikanth is left puzzled about the release of his upcoming films Kaala and 2.0. With the ongoing strike in Tamil Nadu, the release date of Kaala is yet to be decided and the makers are busy wrapping up all the formalities. Kaala completed all the censor formalities and the film has been awarded U/A certificate. Kaala has been suggested 14 cuts and the makers agreed for the possible cuts.
Lyca Productions acquired the theatrical rights of Kaala and the film has been announced for April 27th release. With the ongoing strike of theatres, all the films that have been planned for March release have been delayed. Rajinikanth too has been holding talks but a clarity on the release date is expected only after the strike gets called off. PA Ranjith is the director of this gangster drama and Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films produced Kaala. The Telugu theatrical rights of Kaala are yet to be sold.
