Ambati Rambabu, the leader of YSRCP, contested and lost from Sattenpalli constituency if Guntur district in 2014. He lost with very slight margin on Kodela Siva Prasad, who later became speaker of AP assembly. He is expecting YSRCP ticket from same constituency in 2019 as well but, in a shocking move, around thousand members of YSRCP and belonging to Reddy community met yesterday and resolved that they will not support Ambati Rambabu’s candidature. They even resolved to take their decision to party chief Jagan.
Ambati Rambabu, even though he lost in 2014 elections, has been loyal to the party and has been very articulate in expressing the decisions of the party and very eloquent in the debates. He is from Kapu community and his constituency has sizeable chunk of Reddys as well as Kapus. It will be interesting to see whether Jagan will consider the feedback of these Reddy leaders and deny ticket to Ambati Rambabu .
Ambati is yet to respond on this issue.
