South actress Samantha Akkineni’s thirst for good roles made her choose the critically acclaimed Kannada hit ‘U Turn’ to remake in Tamil and Telugu as a bilingual. Earlier this year, Samantha herself announced that she will reprise Shraddha Srinath’s role as a journalist and termed it as her dream role. However, there were speculations in media that Samantha has been replaced by Nitya Menen.
Now, the latest update reveals that the film is finally happening with Samantha officially signing the dotted line. The regular shooting will commence from the third week of January. Contrary to the reports it will be a bilingual, the film will be shot only in Tamil. The makers are yet to decide on simultaneously shooting in Telugu.
Director Pawan, who helmed the Kannada version, will call shots for the Tamil version too. The remaining cast and crew will be finalized very soon.
