Akhil Akkineni’s Agent released yesterday and the response for the film is quite poor. Akhil, Surendar Reddy are trolled badly. Even the hardcore Akkineni fans trolled the film. Akhil spent more than two years on this film. Amala Akkineni responded to the trolls on Agent and Akhil. She said that the film had flaws but she enjoyed the film thoroughly.

“I understand that trolling comes from inner insecurity and needs for achievement. I watched Agent yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the film. Though, it had its flaws, if you watch with an open mind you’ll be amazed. I watched it in a power-packed theatre while 50% of the audience among are ladies who are mothers and grandmothers along with their husbands and sons. There were screams when the big action happened. I am sure, his next one will be bigger and better” told the statement of Amala.

Actress Amala Akkineni, whose performance in her just released bilingual film ‘Kanam’ has come in for widespread praise, said that she made sweets for her entire unit despite not having cooked for a while.

When asked about rumours that she had made sweets for the entire crew of ‘Kanam’, Amala said with a laugh: “Yes. In the movie I play the role of a mother, and one day, when I was asked, ‘Ma, will you cook for us,’ I didn’t know what to say.”

“How can I tell them that I don’t know how to cook? So, I did it whole-heartedly. But it doesn’t come as easyly when you don’t cook daily.

“The entire crew came home and ate the whole thing. Poor things, everyone ate in silence. But I doubt if it actually tasted good. You just have to ask them.”

The actress, who ruled the Tamil film industry with her brilliant performances before marrying Telugu star Nagarjuna and settling down in Hyderabad, said that her dubbing in Tamil for the film surprised director Shree Karthick.

She said: “I can speak Tamil well if given as a dialogue. But when I converse normally, I think in English and translate word by word into Tamil. So it will seem slow. As Telugu is my spoken language now, I mix it up with Telugu words too. But while dubbing, Shree Karthick was surprised. Because I will speak in Tamil first and it will be spot on. It was easier than Telugu.”

Amala Akkineni turns muse for ethical fashion

0

Actress Amala Akkineni turned muse for eri silk designer Jyoti Reddy’s ethical fashion line ‘ereena’.

“I never imagined I would wear a silk sari as I practice Ahimsa. Many times people tried to convince me about Ahimsa silk, but when I followed the chain of production it always ended with genetically modified silk moths that could not fly. There was nothing Ahimsa about it.

“So when Jyoti approached me with ‘ereena’, I was sceptical. But because she is a friend, I listened and witnessed the miracle. Ereena is a commendable mission for both women empowerment and environmentally sustainable Ahimsa silk,” Amala said after the collection’s launch, read a statement.

What makes Reddy’s business ethical fashion is the fact that sustainable eri silk production attributes low carbon emissions, low water consumption, respect for silk worm and sustainability, the designer said.

Reddy works with 80 master weavers in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Assam, to bring to eri her innovative designs using traditional forms like ikat, jamdani, jacquard and natural dye block printing.

The designer launched the collection in Ahimsa silk — a more humane way to create silk — at her first flagship store here. The range includes must-haves for brides-to-be, apart from casual, work wear dresses and saris.
