Govt will change in AP too, says CPI Narayana

0

CPI senior leader K Narayana on Monday said that the government would change in Andhra Pradesh after the 2024 general election. He said that a new government would come into force after the elections as was done in the neighbouring Telangana state.

Narayana interacted with the media in Hyderabad, where he said that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had failed on all fronts in the last five years. Jagan Mohan Reddy had failed to bring new industries to the state, lay new roads and bring new infrastructure to the state in five years.

The CPI leader said that people have given one chance to Jagan Mohan Reddy. The chief minister had failed to utilise that one chance, he said and added that people are not ready to give him another chance.

Narayana said that his party would contest one MP seat each in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the coming elections. However, he did not say where the party would contest the Parliament elections.

He maintained that the party would look for alliances in Andhra Pradesh. The CPI is looking at the TDP for alliance. In fact, the two Left parties are looking at the TDP for alliance this time.

In the last elections, the Left parties have aligned with the Jana Sena and the BSP and have lost deposits wherever they contested. This time, they wanted the TDP to have an alliance with them and give them a couple of seats.

The TDP too is in favour of having an alliance with the Left parties. The TDP is already aligned with the Jana Sena and the two parties are working together to build the alliance. The parties are likely to have a clear understanding of seat sharing by Pongal 2024.

He reiterated that the YSR Congress would go home after the elections and its leader Jagan Mohan Reddy would go to jail. He blamed the YSR Congress for supporting the BJP at the national level. He made an appeal to the minorities to understand the true colours of Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is in the pockets of the BJP leaders.

CPI Narayana moots Grand Alliance in AP

0

CPI national secretary K Narayana favoured grand alliance in Andhra Pradesh for the 2024 general election. He emphasised the need for the unity of TDP, Jana Sena and the Left Parties to defeat the YSR Congress.

Speaking to media persons in Vijayawada, the CPI leader regretted that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan became silent after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Visakhapatnam on November 11. He recalled the statements of Pawan Kalyan for unity of the opposition parties in the state before the meeting with Modi.

However, after meeting with the Prime Minister, the Jana Sena chief is silent on the opposition unity, he said. He wondered why Pawan Kalyan is not talking about unity of opposition parties and his pledge to keep the anti-government vote undivided.

He alleged that the BJP and the YSR Congress were working together. While the BJP was protecting the interests of the YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh, the YSR Congress was protecting the interests of the BJP in Delhi, he said.

He emphasised the need to defeat both the BJP at the Centre and the YSR Congress in the state in the next elections. He said that the BJP was destroying the nation, while the YSR Congress was destroying the state.

The CPI leader wanted TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to think of grand alliance for the next elections to defeat the YSR Congress.

The CPI and the CPI-M had alliance with the Jana Sena and the BSP in the 2019 general election and all of them have lost deposits. It was only Jana Sena that had won one MLA from Razole in the Godavari districts.

It is now to be seen if Pawan Kalyan would forge the grand alliance as suggested by Narayana or would go with the BJP as being discussed among the political circles.

Jagan is trying to remove High Court Chief justice : Narayana

2

Rumours have come up several times in the past that the YCP MPs were lobbying hard in Delhi for removal of the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh. Now, CPI National Secretary K. Narayana says that it was true the Jagan Reddy regime in AP was making all out efforts to get Justice Maheswari moved out of the State. This is also part of the quid pro quo deals being made between the BJP and the YCP at the national level.

The CPI leader says that whatever be their political priorities in the state level, the YCP and the BJP were hand in glove in the Delhi scene. The YCP MPs had given unconditional and total support to the farmers and electricity bills brought by the Modi Government in the Parliament. This was why the Central Government was considering the requests of the Jagan Reddy Government to a large extent.

Mr. Narayana said that a top level lobbying was going on in Delhi to remove the AP Chief Justice. This was just because the AP High Court was just carrying out its constitutional duties to dismiss or stay the unconstitutional decisions of CM Jagan Reddy. The courts were bound by the Constitution. The AP CM even targeted State Election Commissioner and removed him. Even the President has no powers to remove the SEC but Jagan Reddy did that without respect to the Rule of Law.
