Rana Daggubati turns Marthanda Varma

It looks like macho actor Rana Daggubati is bitten by the ‘Period Film’ bug. Having already acted in period films like Baahubali and Ghazi, Rana Daggubati has signed one more interesting period drama which is going to retell the glory of Marthanda Varma, the famous king of Travancore who belonged to the 18th Century A.D.

Rana announced through his social media blogger that he is going to essay the role of Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma and the film will be helmed by K. Madhu. The story for the film was written by Robin Tirumala. The regular shooting will commence in mid next year after Rana wraps up his current commitments.

The pre production activities will kick start very soon. Rana is currently shooting for another period film titled as 1945. He also signed a film in Gunasekhar’s direction which will narrate the life history of Hiranyakashipu.
