KCR alleges Damodar Raja Narasimha’s hand in Kaleshwaram stay order

0

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao accused the congress leaders for obstructing the project and securing the National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) stay order. He said, “It is known fact that former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha is impeding the project”

He questioned, “How can a farmer pay Rs 6lakh per day to a lawyer to argue on Kaleshwaram project?” He said that it is evident who is behind the scenes trying to hamper the construction of project.

Addressing a media conference at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday KCR said, “The stay doesn’t mean the project has stopped. It is temporary silly setback which we will overcome”. He said that the directive will be challenged in the Court.

It may be recalled that on Thursday NGT ordered the Telangana government to stop the work on Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme (KLIS) till it secures all required environment and forest clearances.

KTR: Had Whatsapp been an Indian product it wouldn’t have got same valuation

0

Telangana Minister of IT K T Rama Rao at the World Economic Forum’s India Economic Summit on Thursday said that governance is not about being seen or heard, it is about being felt. Speaking as one of the panelists at an interactive session with the theme ‘Scale-up India, he said, “In a democracy like India, we can do much better, if the country is governed and not meddled”

Saying that governments cannot spur innovation but can aid innovation, he advised the governments to stop coming in the way of doing business.

Apart from speaking about the aid TRS government is giving in the form of T-Hub, he critiqued the NDA government’s Startup India programmed. Comparing the initiative to Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program of the US, he said, “Innovation cannot be done in factory mode. A government cannot spur innovation by allocation 10000 crore rupees”. Noting that it is not a feasible solution, he stated that the Startup India programme hasn’t given a dime to Telangana.

KTR taking a jibe at Whatsapp’s evaluation of 19 billion dollars said, “Had it been an India product it wouldn’t have worked that well”. He made a crucial point that third world countries get third world valuations. He said that “Physicality, locality and proximity matter” and technology has not levelled everything for statups.

He said that fancy technology and fancy solutions doesn’t matter in the context of India. What matters is how the consumer will receive it. KTR opinionated that while Indian’s are great at making products, they are unable to articulate or market it properly.

The TRS leader stated that right kind of product for the market fit will help u scale up quickly and will be disruptive. He concluded by saying “Don’t boil the ocean. Find the right product Go at it keep at it”

Major Setback on Kaleshwaram: TRS Govt to approach Supreme Court

0

Telangana government’s prestigious Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project suffered a major setback on Thursday as the National Green Tribunal (NGT) ordered to stop works on the project due to lack of environmental clearance.

A bench headed by Justice Jawad Rahim issued a direction that until mandatory clearances are granted, the government should contain from carrying out any construction or other activities like clear-cutting of trees, blasting and tunnelling in the forest areas, reports PTI.

The government will likely knock the doors of Supreme Court against NGT’s direction of interim to stay the Rs 80000 crore project which envisages to provide water to drought-hit areas of Telangana.

In a bid for T-TDP leaders, KCR to host Kamma Sammelan

0

In a not so surprising move Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is allegedly planning to arrange a ‘Kamma Sammelan’ to woo and comprehend the desires of community leaders from the TRS government. Such meetings will be organised for other influential communities including Reddys, forward and backward classes also. It may be recalled that Minister of IT K T Rama Rao setup such caste meetings ahead GHMC elections.

As per the reports in DC, the TRS supremo apparently ordered Minister Tummala Nagasheswar Rao to setup a meet before Diwali. Furthermore, KCR will be inducting prominent faces of TDP into TRS and supposedly arrayed confidants to attract them into the party.

Also, Chief Minister is discontent with the sitting MLAs and wants to field in experienced and strong leaders in upcoming elections. Likewise, in his quick chat with Payyavula Keshav in Anantapur on Sunday, KCR purportedly offered him to shift his base to Hyderabad. The TRS chief is also keen to welcome TDP leader Mandava Venkateswara Rao into the party.

These attempts are seen as a move to completely take over the Telangana TDP.

‘Intintiki TDP’ features KCR along with CBN in Prakasham district

0

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s visit to Andhra Pradesh and conversation with Telugu Desam Party leaders sparked a debate that he was trying to secure the support of the Kamma community.

Days after his visit to Anantapur, KCR’s photo was up in a TDP flexi in Velamavaripalem village of Ballikurava Mandal in Prakasam District. This poster welcomed Gottipati Ravi Kumar who was visiting the village to take part in the ‘Intintiki TDP’ outreach programme. KCR shared space with Late NTR and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on the flexi, which left the onlookers surprised.

While the reports of seeking Kamma’s support is exploratory, the TRS supremo certainly got support from the Velama community in AP.

Revanth Reddy attacks KCR over his Anantapur trip

0

Telangana TDP leader Revanth Reddy came down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for visiting Anantapur and holding discussions with AP TDP senior leader Payyavula Keshav. He responded strongly for the manner in which the TRS supremo behaved in the backdrop of the Paritala’s wedding.

Revanth questioned, “Chief Minister paid respects at Paritala Ravi’s Ghat, but did he ever visit the graves of the martyrs of Telangana?”

Taking potshots at the hypocrisy displayed by the Chief Minister, Revanth said, “He never gave appointment to Professor Kodandaram on whom KCR showered praises during Telangana agitation. But he held separate discussion with Payyavula who strongly who opposed bifurcation of the state.”

Revanth did not mince his words and in an abusive way said that KCR will go to any extent to gain political mileage.

KCR says No by-election in Nalgonda

0

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao finally spoke on the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat, which would fall vacant if sitting MP Gutha Sukhendar Reddy resigns. KCR thinks that there is hardly any possibility for by-election and even questioned “why should there be one?”

Furthermore, he accused the media for writing about things that are not going to happen. He said that TRS would win any bypoll.

On the other hand, TPCC MLA from Nalgonda Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that he is willing to contest in the by-elections to the Nalgonda seat. Even TDP MLA Revanth Reddy expressed interest to contest in the bypoll.

As per the reports, TRS leadership was planning to make sitting Sukhender Reddy resign from his parliamentary position, so that he could head Telangana farmers’ coordination committee. To prepare the cadre for 2019 elections and boost their morale, TRS supremo reportely wanted to conduct a bypoll on similar lines to the Nandyal byelection in Andhra Pradesh

Nonetheless, KCR’s refraining from committing about Nalgonda bypoll is something to be deliberated by all the parties in the state.

Will KCR take control over TRS legislators fighting Rebel bureaucrats?

0

The controversies between legislators and bureaucrats of Telangana is causing damage to the ruling party even though the party has been showering favours in form of salary hikes and incentives to the government employees.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is said to have a strong hold over the TRS legislators, yet the scuffle between Janagaon collector A Sri Devasena and MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy of TRS is only aggravating.

While Devasena demanded the government to action and corrective measures, Muthireddy also wanted judicial action against the collector and demanded immediate transfer.

Warangal Urban Collector Amrapali locked horns with the local MLA. So, the government is likely to do a mutual transfer of Devasena and Amrapali to Warangal Urban and Janagaon respectively. But any action against Devasena who has been working efficiently will be not be welcomed by the people.

The attack on Yellendu municipal commissioner M Ravi Babu on Monday by the TRS leaders was followed by the criticism and protest by government employees

KCR government has not been taking any action against its legislator, evident from the dispute of Mahabubabad MLA Shankar Naik with Collector Preethi Meena.

Collector Dr Yogita Rana who won the best collector award was transferred after she managed to crack a whip on the TRS leaders of Nizamabad

Even MLAs like Rasamayi Balakishan and Gangula Kamalakar had spat over protocol issues with collector Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Similarly, MLAs Gadari Kishore, Vemula Veersham, Sankara Goud have been mulled with controversies.

The list and transfers drama continues without any serious action against the legislators. With just about two years for elections, TRS may want to soon resolve the issues as any government which faced the wrath of government employees cannot dream to continue in power.

Telangana accused Andhra of rigging telemetry devices

0

Telangana government has filed a complaint with Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) against Andhra Pradesh government for allegedly meddling with the telemetry equipment installed at Pothireddypadu head regulator in Kurnool district.

Engineer-in-chief C. Muralidhar on the instructions of Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao lodged a complaint alleging the tampering of regulator in such a way that meter no longer shows the actual water taken by AP. The telemetry system was tampered with the help of the agency Mechactronics Systems Private Limited and all the previously calibrated recorded data was wiped out and new data was loaded into the system.

Harish Rao reviewed the situation and asked the KRMB board to immediately convene an emergency meeting, which was reportedly accepted.

Congress asks TRS to follow the footsteps of AP Govt for NRI welfare

0

Leader of the Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Md Shabbir Ali advised the TRS to follow Andhra Pradesh government which formed a corpus fund of Rs 40 crore for the welfare of NRIs.

He asked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his son K T Rama Rao to avoid making superficial statements and immediately introduce the NRI policy bill in the impending Assembly sessions. The Congress leader noted that comprehensive NRI policy was part of the election promise of the pink party.

He said that NRIs with origins from Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Siddipet have reached out to him in crisis situations.

Shabbir Ali came down heavily on the brother-sister duo KTR-Kavitha for failing to help the families of Gulf victims. He said that skill trainings by NAC instead of Jagruthi organisation is need.ed He also added that NRI office accessible to everyone outside the secretariat is need along with a social security scheme for NRIs in Gulf.

He asked the government to set up an NRI cell in each district and take measures to restore the cancelled ration cards.

Harish Rao certainly knows his onions

0

Within 24hours of the ghastly incident at Kaleshwaram project in Rajanna-Siricilla district which left seven workers dead, Minister of irrigation T Harish Rao said that the Telangana government appointed a committee to suggest steps to be taken to prevent incidents like the collapse of a roof of a pump house.

He responded straightaway not just by announcing ex-gratia but also by appointing committee, hardly giving a chance to the opposition parties to disparage.

Opposition parties are trying their best to showdown the ruling party leaders specifically the first family of the state. Congress to an extent was able to project itself as Dalit-friendly using the Nerella incident.

But when similar situation comes up with Harish Rao, he is very well-organized and knows his onions well. Even in the course of land acquisition for Mallanna Sagar project while he was being made scapegoat, the irrigation minister deplored the opposition parties and emerged out of the situation. Harish Rao devises his strategies well and is equipped to deal with anything thrown up against him.

Bathukamma saris: KTR furious; Kavitha says don’t take if you don’t like them

0

Hours after Women vented ire on Telangana Government by making bonfire of Bathukamma sarees, the TRS leadership took a very serious note of the incidents and ordered the officials to file non-bail able cases against the offenders.

Minister of IT&C K T Rama Rao lamented the opposition Congress for creating disturbances and lighting fire to the sarees. He alleged that the such protests happened only in the constituencies of the TPCC leaders. The Minister said that women do not burn saree but give it away to others if they do not like it.

Nizambad MP K Kavitha Rao responding to the protests, deplored the opposition for creating ruckus especially regarding the Bathukamma sarees which women consider it as a sentiment. She advised not to take the sarees if they do not like it and avoid politicizing things. She said that opposition party should stop stooping to such low-level.

Telangana government distributed 26lakh sarees to the women as a gift for the state festival Bathukamma. It may be noted that women at several places in the state protested regarding the poor-quality of sarees.

Women vent ire on TS Govt, make bonfire of Bathukamma sarees

0

Telangana government’s over-hyped Bathukamma saree distribution started with women protesting about the poor-quality stating that it is hardly worth Rs 100.

The festival of Bathukamma is celebrated with great devotion by the people of Telangana irrespective of their stature. Telangana government announced that the 1.4 crore sarees woven by the handloom weavers of the state will be distributed. In theory women expected sarees from famous places like Gadwal and Sricilla, but when in reality the quality of the sarees was substandard and purchased from Surat.

This did not go down with a lot of women who ended up burning those sarees and some reportedly played Bathukamma around it mocking the government. The women criticized the government for fooling them and making them stand in queue for hours. They even calculated that they lost Rs 300 wage for a saree which is not even worth Rs 100. Some women asked directly if the chief minister’s daughter and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha would dress herself in such saris.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is well aware of sentiment based politics. Telangana was a sentiment before the state was carved out, now in the name of Telangana festivals, public funds are being spent on large scale. However, the government failed to calculate whether handloom workers will be able to deliver sarees in time.

The saree distribution program was expected to increase the reputation of the government. But due to the lack of proper management it angered the women population. It is indisputable that the government will have to bear the brunt not only from the women but also from opposition parties.

Telangana marks Hyderabad merger day

0

The merger of Hyderabad with the Indian union in 1948 was celebrated across Telangana on Sunday, with the unfurling of the national flag at the offices of political parties.

While the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the main opposition Congress and others celebrated the merger day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated it as “liberation day”.

It was on this day in 1948 that the erstwhile Hyderabad State merged with the Indian union following the Indian military operation against the Nizam’s Army.

Home Minister N. Narasimha Reddy unfurled the tricolour at the TRS headquarters in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali and other leaders.

Alleging that the BJP was dividing people on the issue, Narasimha Reddy advised the party to desist from communal politics.

The BJP celebrated the day on a large scale with unfurling of the national flag at many places.

At the BJP state office, state president K. Laxman hoisted the tricolor where he targeted the TRS government for going back on its promise to officially celebrate the day.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is to address a public meeting at Nizamabad later in the day.

Congress state President Uttam Kumar Reddy hoisted the national flag at the party office. He alleged that under the TRS rule, Telangana was witnessing the same repression committed in Hyderabad State and called upon the people to launch another movement.

The BJP and other Hindu right-wing organisations had called for officially celebrating the occasion as “liberation day”.

Muslim groups have been opposing any celebrations as they claim that Muslims were massacred during the “police action”, as the Indian military action was popularly known.

What will happen if Harish Rao joins BJP?

0

Bhartiya Janata Party is making moves to emerge as strong party to counter ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi while Telangana Congress leaders continue to fight among themselves.

Evidently BJP needs a Baahubali more than Congress to create its footprint and march into the elections. T Harish Rao swore allegiance to TRS and stated that whatever KCR says is Gospel Truth. But Harish Rao could be the Baahubali for BJP who can retaliate against his uncle KCR for sidelining him.

In the past, specifically during the Y S Rajashekar Reddy regime when TRS was undergoing crisis, speculations were rife that Harish Rao will be leaving TRS to join Congress. Also, there was buzz that, as the party lost confidence in KCR after horrible defeat in the elections, Harish Rao would be named as the TRS president.

The irrigation minister had a major part to play in several elections and has mastered the art of campaigning and picking candidates.

KTR did secure the GHMC elections which gave him more limelight. But Harish Rao who was the second-head since inception will just get free hand in elections if he joins the saffron brigade.

He is well versed with the booth level politics of TRS. Additionally, the irrigation minister worked in Congress and knows in and out about the party.

TRS Member of Parliament D Srinivas son, Aravind Dharmapuri, picked BJP and is also discussing on “Operation TRS” – by encouraging the children of TRS leaders into BJP and ensuring that they contest in 2019 elections.

If Harish Rao’s brain is added to ‘Operation TRS’, BJP will become unbeatable. Narendra Modi has cemented his image as a the tallest leader in the country and his charisma is not going to fade anytime soon.

In this backdrop, if mastermind Amit Shah who is targeting 350+ seats in 2019 elections shakes hand with another mastermind Harish Rao, it will weaken TRS at its roots.

KCR’s hypocrisy in celebrating Telangana Liberation Day

0

Telangana Language Day was celebrated on 9 September on the occasion birthday of renowned writer, poet of Kaloji Narayana Rao. After formation of Telangana, several such days are celebrated remembering leaders and their contributions from the past.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on several occasions noted that many heroes from Telangana did not get due recognition and that the TRS government is putting all efforts to make ensure that future generations are aware of the great leaders.

But hypocrisy of the TRS supremo is evident from the way they have been avoiding Telangana Liberation Day celebrations. The stalwarts about whom KCR speaks about – Doddi Komaraiah, Chakali Ailamma, Bhaghya Reddy Varma, Kaloji Narayana Rao, Suravaram Pratap Reddy and many more, all of these people fought against the atrocities of Nizam.

There is no point in celebrating these leaders, if the cause for which they fought is not recognised and celebrated. Moreover, KCR is ensuring that the students get only half knowledge which is favourable for TRS to reign over the newly formed state.

While the liberation day is celebrated officially in Maharashtra and Karnataka, even after the bifurcation the TRS government failed to recognize this day, because of vote-bank politics as it might anger AIMIM.

On 17 September, 1948, Indian armed forces officially put an end to the 200-year-old Nizam rule in the present-day Telangana, parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka annexing the Hyderabad state into the Indian Union.

Bharatiya Janata Party has been demanding official celebrations on September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day for the past 18 years. TRS before bifurcation of state wanted the Andhra Pradesh government to celebrate it.

Harish Rao has no other choice but to endure the invisibility cloak by KCR

0

Telangana Minister of Irrigation T Harish Rao was gifted an invisibility cloak immediately after TRS came to power by none other than Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. This powerful cloak has been ensuring that Harish is not visible to the naked eye even if he praises, yells or for that matter accomplishes something great.

Despite Harish making it loud and clear that he is not side-lined but is competing at work with the Chief Minister’s son K T Rama Rao, speculations endure about, he switching allegiance from TRS to either BJP or Congress. Even the followers of Harish are not condemning such reports strongly.

The stories in media and the actions of the TRS leaders, towards Harish seem to be in accordance with the mastermind strategist KCR. This is creating a negative impact on his followers who are trying to move away from him and the party because of the apathetic attitude towards their leader by the TRS supremo himself. Some of the supporters of Harish in his stronghold Siddipet are also being sidelined.

Harish was the teacher’s pet who was always ready to give back to anyone, but in the recent past, he was not allowed to make any crucial announcement nor were his comebacks directed towards the opposition party appreciated. In any troublesome situation, the irrigation minister who was the go-to man for resolutions, who is no longer being involved instead his position is in trouble.

The visuals of Chief Minister ignoring the compliments of irrigation minister during the launch of the SRSP revival works at Pochampad, are doing rounds on social media.

One of the TRS senior leader made it clear that Harish has no other choice but to compromise with the situations. Nonetheless, there is evident discontent among the followers despite they trying to adapt to the situations. This is plainly a strategy to make Harish a lone wolf and this intellectual plight will continue in near future.

Telangana did not take any loan from foreign banks

0

Telangana government has not taken any loan from banking institutions outside India, while Andhra Pradesh continues to bring finances from World Bank, Asian Development bank and other such banks outside India.

As per the reports in DC, in a meeting with World Bank officials this week wherein officials had to discuss their proposals for state and the funding required, Telangana did not propose any project. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh sought Rs 4700 crore loan for roads, drinking water, power and flood management of the new capital Amaravati.

The newly formed state is tuning funds from Indian Financial institutions and corporations because they need loans off budget and the interest rates are same as that of World Bank. Additionally, there will be a lot of intervention from World bank and Central government related to machinery and finances.

However, taking loans from institutions abroad are on budget and comes under FRBM (Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management act) which the Telangana state government wants to avoid
