Telangana Govt is more of promotion and less of action : BJP

0

G V L Narasimha Rao

BJP National Spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao described the TRS regime in Telangana as “more of promotion and less of action”. He expressed confidence in Narendra Modi government whose schemes will help them fare well in both Telugu speaking states.

Rao who was in Vishakapatnam on Monday to attend Godmen Swaroopananda Saraswathi’s birthday celebrations, said that they would decide on alliances later and the strategies will be independent of partnerships in each state. However, the saffron party aspires to win half of the Lok Sabha seats in South India.

Futher more he held that BJP will evolve in Tamil Nadu as there is political vacuum and their voter share will increase in Kerala.

The decision was taken on Monday by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at a meeting with senior officials and Muslim leaders.

It was also decided to construct the Hyderabad International Islamic Cultural Convention Centre on 10 acres of land in Kokapet here. The Chief Minister directed that work on the project should commence in three weeks.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, Charminar and its surrounding area will be developed like the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly known, said a 42 km stretch along the Musi river will be developed like the Sabarmati riverfront in Gujarat. He asked officials to make arrangements for plying metro and nano rail along the Musi riverbank.

Rama Rao and Etela Rajender, AIMIM President and Hyderabad Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM Legislature party leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, state Chief Secretary S.P. The Chief Minister said that minorities should have 10 per cent quota in the double bedroom housing scheme.

Also, tests for recruitment to government jobs will be conducted in the Urdu language along with English and Telugu.

Asaduddin Owaisi lauded the residential schools set up by the state government for minorities and said this would bring a revolution in the next 10 years.

Ex-minister Sridhar Babu caught on tape plotting against TRS leader

0

Srishar Babu

Congress Leader and former Minister Sridhar Babu was caught on tape plotting against TRS leader Kishan Reddy to trap the latter in Ganja Case. The incident which sounds like a typical movie plot, awkwardly put the Congress leader on spot as the phone conversation has exposed his plan.

Political differences between Muttaram TRS leader Kishan Reddy and Sridhar Babu had been brewing for a long time now. Consequently, the Congress leader was plotting against the TRS leader as the disparities snowballed.

A case has been filed against Sridhar Babu in Chikkadpally police station by Kishan Reddy who alleged that the congress leader was trying to entice him in the Ganja case.

Kishan Reddy submitted the audio tapes of the conversation between with the former Sarpanch Sudarshan and Sridhar Babu in this regard. The case has been booked under section20(b) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

KTR hits out at BJP for hostile attitude towards South India

0

KTR

Telangana Minister of IT&C K T Rama Rao has attacked the BJP central leadership for overlooking Southern states despite contributing considerably to the growth of the country. He noted that BJP-led-NDA government is ensuing a “not-so-favourable” policy making attitude towards South India.

In an interview with TNIE, KTR not only made sensational statements on the critical attitude adopted by the politicians of North but also on demonetisation. He advised the BJP leaders to act wise and accept the fact that demonetisation has not worked.

He noted that there are not a lot of achievements for BJP. Siricilla MLA sees that the problem for BJP lies in the fact that they are trying to replicate the Gujarat model, without understanding the rest of the country.

He said that though the BJP is not anti-South, the TRS leader was clearly stated that the south India states should get the same opportunities and importance in North Indian. He deplored the move of Union Government to operate bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmadabad.

KTR questioned why has the government not thought of perceiving a bullet train connecting Southern metropolitan cities to the national capital. He asked “Why can’t we conceive a Golden Quadrilateral like what Atal Bihari Vajpayee did?”

He noted that giving slogans or good ideas is not sufficient but the central government needs to adopt more practical approach in making policy. The TRS apparent heir, noted that the MPs and parties from south are no longer playing significant role in union politics. He said that saffron party lacks connect with the people and does not see the scope for the TRS and BJP to work together.

Will TDP suspend Revanth Reddy for his anti-party activities?

0

Revanth Reddy Suspension

Telangana TDP Politburo Central Committee members will meet on Friday to discuss on the latest political developments and future course of action. With just a week left for Telangana Assembly sessions to commence, will Revanth Reddy be sacked as the TTDP’s Working President has become a crucial topic of deliberation.

It will become difficult for Reddy, who knocked the doors of the court against defection, to justify the new assertion of switching to Congress. Moreover, the TRS government which is opposing it can also disqualify him. In this backdrop, the best way ahead for Reddy is to get suspended from the party.

TDP has to suspend him following his accusations again Andhra Pradesh Minister of Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu among others anti-party activities. Reddy said that Yanamala’s brother secured a Rs2000 crore contract from the Telangana Government.

Yanamala occupies a special place in TDP Government due to his seniority. The party has to take a serious note of these accusations by Reddy.

Despite the leaders claiming that the contracts have been given in a legal way, it is once again proved that politics and businesses are run hand in hand. These statements will be certainly used against the TDP government by the opposition party YSRCP in the assembly.

Reddy with these allegations against his own party men created a path to seamlessly move out of the party and rolled the ball into TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu’s court.

AP & TS transforming into arenas of caste politics

0

ANdhra Pradesh, Telangana caste politics

The influence of castes in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh politics is being seen like never before. It won’t be surprising if the upcoming elections will be completely based on caste equations.

Andhra Pradesh politics are dominated by two social groups Reddy and Kammas. Both the Congress(YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam have been fighting for the supremacy, while the rest of the castes favor the parties based on time and necessity.

These internal caste politics have become unrestricted and is no longer insider strategy. TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy openly questioned as to what would Jagan Mohan Reddy do for the welfare of Reddy community? Furthermore, he asked the members of Reddy caste to not trust Jagan.

Support of the Kapu Caste in Andhra Pradesh has been a decisive factor in elections. Kapus defacto is Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan even if he concurs with it or not. Moreover, there is Mudragada Padmanabam who ensures to remind them of the unfulfilled promises by the TDP government.

Kancha Ilaiah’s book has created ripples in Arya Vysya community whose leaders like TDP MP T.G.Venkatesh have been directly speaking about their caste. The otherwise unruffled Vysya community started remonstrating against the government for neglecting their caste. Their unity will certainly influence the upcoming elections.

I Y R Krishna Rao moving out of the Brahmin Corporation has been portrayed as an insult to their caste. He has publicly voiced as to how the government is depriving the corporation of funds.

Mandha Krishna Madiga has been creating ripples with his Kurukshetra Sabha. Moreover, the social boycott of Dalits in Garagaparru incident will remain as a black mark.

The two big parties are continuously fueling the fire, instead of putting a hard stop.

On the other hand, caste politics in Telangana is relatively less compared to its counterpart, which was publicly acknowledged by Chief Minister himself. However, the land of armed struggle and uprisings has seen sudden surge in caste politics in the recent past.

The ruling party itself is involved in the uniting Kamma and Velma communities, against the Reddys’ including Professor Kodandaram. Merely to counter the Reddy community, the ruling party itself is accused of bringing the caste factor in the newly formed state.

Senior Congress leader Jagga Reddy recently warned that if the ruling TRS tries to dominate using their caste, his community will unite and show their power. With Congress trying to attract Revanth Reddy, second general elections in Telangana will inevitable be based on caste politics.

In the backdrop of this, the prospect of the Telugu speaking states becoming the venue for caste based politics in upcoming elections is vivid. Politicians who should take only the progressive and development path against caste and religion politics are unfortunately using these tactics for their temporary benefit. It is time to put an end to fights and rhetoric in the name of castes.

TDP Leader Revanth Reddy in talks with Congress?

0

Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy will be defecting into Congress in Telangana, while exodus of leaders to TDP continues in Andhra Pradesh. If reports are to believed, the Telangana TDP working president who has been requesting opposition parties to unite in the fight against ruling TRS, could become a major political player for TPCC anytime soon.

Congress is a party without a tough leader and Revanth is a strong leader in a non-existent party in Telangana. He is best known for countering TRS with his strong verbal attacks.

As per the sources of TNIE, Congress leader Jaipal Reddy is holding negotiations with the TDP leader on behalf of the leadership. S Jaipal Reddy is Revanth’s wife’s uncle.

Even though Revanth denied rumours of going into Congress, he is confident that the TDP supremo will not take decision of merging TDP with TRS in Telangana against his wishes.

On the other hand, the TTDP leader’s sudden visit to the national capital Delhi on Monday created buzz in political circles. Nonetheless Revanth has not closed his doors for other options, considering his political future.

AP Govt learns from TS Govt’s misstep

0

Chandranna Pelli Kanuka

The Chief Ministers of the Telugu speaking states are learning from each other’s experiences. Following the ruckus around Bathukamma Sarees in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh government decided to distribute cash and avoid giving away clothes as part of ‘Chandranna Pelli Kanuka’.

The initial proposal was to disburse Rs 25000 and clothes worth another Rs. 5000. However, when the proposal reached Minister Atchchanaidu, he reportedly suggested against distributing clothes considering the recent experience of Telangana Government. Even a small defect in the saree would give opposition a chance to target ruling party.

It may be recalled that Cabinet approved to bring all marriage schemes under – ‘Chandranna Pelli Kanuka’ earlier this week. This scheme will be launched at the beginning of 2018.

It is surprising to note that the ruling party is making changes to the welfare schemes fearing the opposition. They are not very confident of providing clothes of good quality. It may be noted that these schemes are being to gain political advantage more than public welfare.

KCR announces special package in the fortress of Congress

0

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao set the stone for the integrated Collectorate complex and district police headquarters in Suryapet. Speaking on the occasion KCR said that TRS knows better than anyone else on how to develop Telangana. Showering sops in the Congress bastion, he said that the erstwhile Nalgonda was ignored by pervious governments.

The Nalgonda package includes

  • 4000 MW Yadadri ultra mega power plant which will be the number one in the south India.
  • Rs 75crore for infrastructure development in Suryapet
  • Next year’s budget to include two medical colleges for the erstwhile Nalgonda district
  • Grant of Rs 15 lakhs to 323 gram panchayats in Suryapeta
  • Rs 10 lakh sanction for the development of every Lambada Tanda
  • Developing Suryapeta Pullareddy pond
  • Modernisation of Musi canal system such that the river has water around the year

In return the Chief Minister asked every household to grow six plants in the Suryapet district.

Is KCR advising people to take violent approach?

0

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao appears to promote violence with his inexplicable advices to people.

Speaking on the issue of politicizing Bathukamma sarees on Wednesday KCR said, “When situation arises you should teach them(opposition) a lesson. You shouldn’t remain silent. If anybody tries to do cheap politics in people’s programmes, it is your responsibility to slap them and beat them. If you remain silent you will not get justice”.

It is bizarre that the TRS supremo is guiding people to take a vigorous approach. It may be recalled that on Sunday he advised Singareni Collieries workers to beat corrupt officials with slippers. “If anyone demands bribes or anyone pays bribes, hit both of them with chappals”.

KCR may not be intentionally promoting violence, but his call for a fiercer approach in dealing with corrupt and opposition parties is unsettling for a leader of his stature.

KCR takes a leaf out of Naidu’s book

0

A TSRTC bus conductor D Sanjeev, was given a notice by the Nizamabad Depot manager for criticizing Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on social media platforms. This action comes days after KCR warned stringent action and police cases against social media posts making unsubstantiated allegations on the TRS government.

It may be noted that in his recent press conference, KCR claimed to have granted Rs750 crore to recover RTC from the losses. In his Facebook post Sanjeev said he would go bald if KCR to proves his statements. There are several such posts questioning the government and critiquing them.

The Depot Manager requested the vigilance and security officer of Karimnagar zone to take action against Sanjeev. He is also the state secretary of TSRTC Staff and Workers Federation. Employees unions have condemned the restraints by the management and extended support to their colleague.

TRS MLAs and MPs have become namesakes

The opposition parties have been accusing that Telangana is being ruled by Kalvakuntla family alone. Surprisingly even the MLAs and MPs of the party setup by the first family concur with the opinion. Few TRS leaders feel that they have become namesakes in the party.

Most importantly, the MPs who have to take care of larger number of constituencies are livid. While they get to speak in the parliament only during the sessions, otherwise they hardly get to voice their opinion. The TRS parliamentarians feel that the Centre ignores their requests due to the friendly signals that the Chief Minister has been giving to the Narendra Modi government.

These leaders are not even given a chance to condemn allegations made by opposition. Without the knowledge or approval from the first family, the TRS leaders are not allowed to speak to the media. Moreover, a majority of such leaders are asking for more work at least to be able to face the people when seeking votes again. KCR may be a charismatic figure but the MP’s also need some recognition.

‘VelKam’ is the new buzz word in Telangana

0

The word ‘VelKam’ is the new buzzword in Telangana. Pronounced as ‘Welcome’ it is a shortened version of Velama and Kamma castes’ newfound proximity

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao claimed that he hails from microscopic minority community. Undoubtedly, he would need support of another majority caste to curtail politically strongest Reddy community.

His inclination towards particular section of TDP leaders, was popularized on social media as ‘Velkam’. To counter the dominant Reddy community and its leaders in Telangana, KCR reportedly proposed this VelKam formula to Andhra Pradesh TDP leader Payyavula Keshav last week.

ABN Andhra Jyothy Chief Vemuri RadhaKrishna who travelled along with KCR to attend the Paritala SriRam’s wedding gave a first-hand encounter of the entire episode. He noted KCR attended the wedding with a brigade of leaders who are reportedly flag-bearers of Kamma community to boost the VelKam initiative

This strategy was earlier used by former chief minister of AP by Jalagam Vengala Rao. Nonetheless, time will only tell if this age old ‘Velkam’ formula will be welcomed by the people of Telangana or backfire !

He held a review meeting with TTDP leaders on Sunday at his residence in Hyderabad. In the wake of different opinion about the yellow party’s alliance in the state, Chandrababu took a serious note on the behavior of the Telangana TDP leaders.

Chandrababu reportedly advised the TDP leaders to strengthen the party without depending on him. He said that they should set aside differences and avoid groupism. Revanth Reddy’s catwalk challenge to KCR

0

Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy strongly hit back against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao following his claims against TJAC Chairman and TDP.

Taking a dig at KCR’s superstitious beliefs, he said, “some astrologer for extracting money told KCR that the sons of Chief Minister who ruled from the existing secretariat could never become a CM.” So, KCR wants to demolish the existing one for new secretariat so that he can see his son more often. In the due course Revanth said, “I will draw line in secretariat. Just walk on it like your son does catwalk on stage. If you walk for 100meters, you can be the CM forever without any opposition”

Even though the main opposition restricted their responses to politics, Revanth launched scathing attacks on the TRS supremo.

He alleged that Thumala Nageshwara Rao was sent to Chandrababu Naidu by KCR to broker for the post of minister in the TDP reign. He noted that KCR even pleaded PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana for Rayala Telangana.

Speaking at NTR Trust Bhavan on Saturday, TDP MLA noted KCR did not visit Paritala Ravi’s body as he was minister in Congress cabinet during the YSR regime. Revanth even critiqued his own party ministers Payyavula Keshav and Narasimhanaidu.

The TTDP working president deplored, “According to CM, Professor Kodandaram is an anti-Telangana while the rivals Tummala Nageshwar Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav are Telangana soldiers”

He said he should avoid bringing in Velmadora caste in his defence. Revanth said KCR is undoubtedly a Dora and compared the CM to Druyodhana of Mayasabha. He dismissed the buzz regarding the TDP alliance with TRS.

Professor & opposition parties hit back strongly at KCR; Who said what?

0

Opposition parties in Telangana TDP, Congress, BJP and TJAC chairman Professor Kodandaram have responded to the remarks made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Here is gist of who said what –

Professor Kodandaram – KCR is acting like a Jagirdar

TJAC chairman Prof Kondamaram said that Telangana was not achieved by one person but because of people. Instead of making it Bangaru Telangana, KCR is pushing it into debts. He asked why the government had to detrimentally create new districts? He said that he never thought, MLAs and Ministers would be purchased in the newly formed Telangana. In the absence of ministers the CM has been unilaterally reviewing things and is behaving like a Jagirdar. He said the state is being run by one family, people who opposed Telangana have become friends and fighters have been sidelined.

It is true that the KCR has taken the initiative to form the JAC and based on Professor Jayashankar’s recommendation he headed it. He asked, “Why so much ruckus if only 500 people are attending my meetings?” He said, JAC will not stop fighting for people’s cause despite any number of obstacles being create both offline and on social media.

Revanth Reddy challenged the CM to walk 100metres in the secretariat

Revanth Reddy compared KCR to Druyodhana of Mayasabha and said that he is a great actor. He came in support of Professor Kodandaram and said that JAC term was coined by the students of Osmania and not KCR. He challenged KCR to give Nalgonda Lok Sabha to Srikantha Chary’s mother Shankaramma. He said opposition will not fight and unanimously elect her. Targetting the superstitious beliefs of KCR, challenged the chief minister to walk 100metres in the secretariat. He said KCR is a Dora and he should avoid bringing in Velmadora caste in his defense. He said, the opposition parties lacked unanimity so they lost the Singareni elections. He asked opposition parties to unite against KCR.

V Hanumanth Rao says KCR is Dora Uttam is not!

TPCC leader V Hanumanth Rao objecting KCR’s comments said, that the TRS supremo is undoubtedly a Dora. He asked, “if Uttam Kumar Reddy is a Dora, why did he work in Indian Airforce?”. He alleged the TRS party of distributing money to secure win in Singareni elections. He attributed the defeat of Srikantha chari’s mother in 2014 elections as KCR’s fault. He predicted that the TRS will loss in 2019 elections. He even targeted the governor and said that he is behaving like a TRS karyakarta.

Kishan Reddy says BJP started the direct fight for Telangana

Without the support of BJP, Telangana would have never transpired noted BJP leader Kishan Reddy. He said it is wrong on part of KCR, to say he achieved Telangana singlehandedly. BJP started the direct fight for statehood and pointed at the several pending cases against BJP leaders in Delhi courts. Kishan Reddy said that it is inappropriate of KCR to give caste angle to the Telangana movement and that he is belittling the sacrifices of 1200 victims. He said KCR has not participated in Sagar Haram or Million March. He came in support of Professor Kodandaram.

KCR says Kodandaram is overrating himself; Here are the highlights

0

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao thanked Singareni workers for helping TRS affiliated TBGKS triumph in Union polls. The TRS supremo spoke on a wide range of issues at a media conference held in Pragathi Bhavan on Friday. Here are the highlights

Kodandaram is overrating himself

Chief Minister came down heavily on TJAC chairman Professr Kodandaram. KCR said that the professor is a disillusioned person and never wanted TRS to form the government. He said that the professor went to Delhi to speak to Sonia Gandhi and Digvijay Singh to prepare their manifesto. He challenged the professor to join politics. Kodandaram is over-estimating himself. KCR said that he coined the word ‘JAC’, indicated the rules and sacrifices were made by TRS. Kodandaram was nominal head suggested by Professor Jayashankar while everything was done by him. Kodandaram was not even a Sarpanch of a village. He questioned if the professor was a national leader. He said that the turnout for professor’s Yatras was not even 500.

Will fullfill Singareni promises

Every assurance given to the Singareni workers will be fulfilled. Despite all the opposition parties backing AITUC, the workers have trusted TBGKS. There is no organization that won 45% of the votes in the Singareni election except TBGKS. Singareni workers will be given upto Rs. 6 lakhs interest free loans. KCR critiqued the unions for signing against dependent jobs in 1998. Dependent jobs will be provided as compassionate appointments. Bayyaram mines will be given to Singareni. He said AICC leader Kuntia campaigning for Singareni elections is inexplicable. Wont privatize Singareni, RTC or electricity departments.

Action against abuses on Social Media

CM said that puerile gangs are writing unpleasant words on social media against the ruling party. He said the government welcomes constructive criticism but not blatant lies. KCR warned that any writings against the chief minister, ministers and the representatives of the public will face dire consequences.

Uttam Kumar Reddy is Dora

Deploring the opposition party’s reference of “KCR Dora”, the TRS supremo said that Opposition leader Uttam Kumar Reddy is a Dora. Dora is not a caste, it is a cult. I am not a Dora. Opposition is halting all the projects as they are unable to bear the development in the state. He critiqued V Hanumanth Rao for his statements that the government will give donkeys after giving sheep and buffaloes. KCR said former Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha was hindering the Kaleshwaram project. He said TDP doesn’t exist in Telangana.

Simultaneous polls may not be possible: KCR

0

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday said the Central government’s “one nation one election” plan doesn’t seem possible because a majority of political parties may not agree.

“It doesn’t look possible because so many (parties) may not agree. It’s a multipolar country, not a unipolar country,” he told reporters when asked about the proposal for simultaneous elections to the Parliament and state assemblies.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President feels that it should be left to the wisdom of respective state governments.

“The Government of India can give some free advice. I have seen (Union Minister) Dharmendra Pradhan’s statement. His advice is very good. He can advise BJP Chief Ministers first,” said Rao when asked about the Minister’s suggestion.

“It’s not the question of my supporting or not. The question is things are not clear. Let the Government of India put forth its proposal, then people will think (about it),” he added.

KCR alleges Damodar Raja Narasimha’s hand in Kaleshwaram stay order

0

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao accused the congress leaders for obstructing the project and securing the National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) stay order. He said, “It is known fact that former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha is impeding the project”

He questioned, “How can a farmer pay Rs 6lakh per day to a lawyer to argue on Kaleshwaram project?” He said that it is evident who is behind the scenes trying to hamper the construction of project.

Addressing a media conference at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday KCR said, “The stay doesn’t mean the project has stopped. It is temporary silly setback which we will overcome”. He said that the directive will be challenged in the Court.

It may be recalled that on Thursday NGT ordered the Telangana government to stop the work on Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme (KLIS) till it secures all required environment and forest clearances.
