TDP won’t contest in MLC elections : Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that TDP will stay away from Teacher and Graduate MLC elections. Naidu stated that “With the elections of Uttarandhra Teacher MLC election is to be conducted simultaneously, TDP will not contest in this seat.”

Election Commission released notification for 4 MLC seats in Andhra Pradesh. It is known that current Teachers MLC Gade Srinivasulu Naidu approached TDP high command and asked for their support for this position. Party sources say that there is a chance the party will support him.

The Election Commission has announced that polling will be held on March 22 for Visakhapatnam local body constituency, which had been vacant with the death of MVVS Murthy of TDP, along with the Krishna- Guntur Graduate Constituency, East – west Godavari Graduate constituency, Uttarandhra Teachers Constituency.

Notification for these seats will be issued on 25th of this month and the last date for the submission of nominations is March 5. The nominations will be scrutinized on March 6th and 8th will be the last date to take back the nominations. The EC announced that with the counting of votes on 26th Match, the election process will be wrapped up by 28th March.
