An interesting report is in circulation in film circles right now and it is about a new proposal that is reportedly being considered by the Telangana Government.
Sources say that the Telangana Government is planning to support the production of off beat films and special projects that generally do not get funding because of commercial calculations. The funding is reportedly going to be provided to Telangana filmmakers or people who make a film that affects Telangana in a positive way.
The government is also planning to give a big boost to the film industry in the form of sops and land grants. The T Government is determined to win over the loyalties and support of established Telugu filmmakers and production houses, who are generally seen as Andhra sympathisers.
Whatever the motives may be, the news is a positive development and one must appreciate the Telangana Government if they do bring this scheme out.
