Akkineni Akhil’s romantic entertainer Mr. Majnu released to mixed reports this Friday. While the openings in Telugu states are decent, the overseas start is quite underwhelming as per trade analysts.
In USA, Mr. Majnu managed to collect a meagre $ 81K from its Thursday premiers which is disappointingly less than Akhil’s first two films ( Hello : $ 214K , Akhil $ 90K). Despite good pre release buzz, Mr. Majnu surprisingly started off on a moderate note. The film needs to pick well over the weekend to earn a respectable gross in the first week.
Akhil’s performance as lover boy has been receiving good reviews, but the predictable storyline and flat narration turned out to be the undoing aspects for the film. Niddhi Aggerwal is the film’s leading lady. BVSN Prasad is the producer.
