Director Sreenu Vaitla delivered some memorable hits in his career. Be it ‘Dookudu’ or ‘Baadshah’ or ‘Dhee’ or ‘Ready’ or ‘Dubai Seenu’. His films were known for their huge entertainment levels and he commanded a remuneration of almost 10 Crores per film. He hit a road bump with ‘Aagadu’ and never recovered from the blow of ‘Bruce Lee’.
Now every director who has spent a decade or so in the Industry has had his share of hits and flops. But virtually no top director has struggled like Sreenu Vaitla to land a project. There was a talk that Mahesh Babu would bail out Sreenu but that has not happened. He then reportedly approached Ram and Nithiin. Ram’s project was said to be underway but there is silence in those quarters once again.
So, what is the reason for Sreenu’s trouble? Should any director who has given such big hits face this kind of trouble to land a project? Well, the answer seems to be in Sreenu Vaitla’s temperament. Those who have worked with Sreenu Vaitla say that the man has a huge short temper and an attitude issue.
Egos and attitudes are tolerated when a director is in form. But when failures come calling, the same things become liabilities. That is what seems to be happening in Sreenu Vaitla’s case. Let us hope that Vaitla bounces back soon and discovers his old form.
