The words ‘NTR’ has some magic about them as far as Telugu states are concerned. Politicians of both ruling and opposition parties use NTR’s references in order to get undivided attention from the public. Interestingly, the YCP leaders are chanting this NTR mantra with a view to deriving electoral advantage in the coming general poll. It is known Jagan often says his father YSR is next only to NTR when it comes to popularity among the Telugu people.
Now, YCP MLA Buggana Rajendranath goes a step further and says if NTR is alive, he would have supported Jaganmohan Reddy’s YCP party without any doubt. He refers to the past when NTR was thrown out of the party he had founded and the YCP sympathisers were already making a film on this.
In the BJP also, NTR’s daughter Daggubati Purandeswari is being given utmost importance for the simple reason that she is from the NTR family. This is the same strength that she could get a prominent place in the previous Congress government at the Centre when Manmohan Singh was prime minister. NTR is still remembered for his charismatic film and political life. NTR’s name is certain to echo in the coming AP election as rival parties compete to take advantage.
