Top producer Dil Raju acquired the remake rights of Tamil blockbuster 96 even before the film’s release. This emotional entertainer featured Vijay Sethuapthi and Trisha in the lead roles. Names of several top actors have been speculated to play the lead role in the remake but Dil Raju has been finding it tough to lock the lead actor for the remake. Allu Arjun and Nani watched the film in special screenings and they loved the film immensely.
Though Allu Arjun and Nani are efficient enough to feature in the remake, they have several limitations. Bunny’s stardom is a huge barrier and it is unclear how his fans will react after seeing Bunny playing a 40-year old in the remake. Nani is still young enough and is occupied with a bunch of romantic flicks and Raju is left puzzled to finalize the lead actor for the remake. Though he could acquire the remake rights without any difficulty, he has been finding it tough get the perfect replacement for Vijay Sethupathi.
The film will be perfect enough for a non-star actor. Repeating the magic of Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha on screen is one more big challenge. Dil Raju is currently in hunt for an efficient director who can match all these and make an impressive film. On the whole, the remake of 96 turned out to be a huge challenge for Dil Raju who produced several blockbusters of Telugu cinema.
