Migration has been from time immemorial. Animals and birds migrate during a change of seasons from one place to other. Similarly, early humans migrated in search of food, and the current civilization is migrating in search of opportunities, and better lifestyle. Now, even the politicians, who are usually considered a unique breed, are opting for migration.

Former Congress MP Daggubati Purandeswari, who is currently in BJP, is likely to be contesting for Rajya Sabha seat this time. After it was official that Congress will bifurcate the state of Andhra Pradesh, Daggubati Purandeswari left Congress and joined BJP in March 2014.

On 3rd July 2015, she was appointed as in-charge of BJP Mahila Morcha. Rajya Sabha elections will soon take place for 58 seats in 16 states. Out of which 4 Rajya Sabha seats are from Karnataka. Moreover, Karnataka is a key state in South India for the BJP.

Keeping this in mind, the BJP is trying to send Purandeswari to Rajya Sabha. She will be contesting from one of the 4 vacant (Rajya Sabha) seats in Karnataka. If things go according to the plan, Purandeswari will soon step into Parliament. She served as the Cabinet Minister for HRD, and Textiles during UPA regime, after winning in 2004 (Bapatla) and 2019 (Vishakhapatnam) Lok Sabha elections.
