Varun Tej is impressing with his selection of movies. Though his debut movie Mukunda was flop, his next with Kanche brought him good name. Then he again tried his luck with formulaic commercial movies like Loafer and Mister but both were disasters. But it seems, he has now learned the knack of selecting good scripts and directors.
After riding high on successful films like Fidaa and Toli Prema, now he is committed for two movies. One is with Sankalp Reddy, who directed the movie Ghazi that got critical acclaim. This movie is set in the backdrop of space.
Another movie he committed recently is with the director Sagar Chandra. He earlier directed 2 movies. First one was “Ayyare” with Shivaji and Rajendra Prasad. Second one was “Appatlo Okadundevadu” with Sri Vishnu and Nara Rohit. Both the movies got critical acclaim. “Ayyare” had very good story line but failed because of lack of publicity. Second movie was flop despite good reviews. Now Sagar’s 3rd film is confirmed with Varun Tej.
We have to wait and see, if this movie will bring him the much needed break.
