YSRCP announced the candidates for all 175 constituencies today. Those who saw the list have been commenting that Jagan has implemented 33% reservation for his own Reddy community in the state while giving tickets itself. Further, some more people are commenting that Jagan, who has ditched Kapu community earlier, has now ditched BCs.
Out of the 175 constituencies, Jagan gave tickets to be BCs only in 41 constituencies, which is less than 25% of the seats. Jagan who convened meeting with backward castes with the grand title of ‘ BC Garjana’ seems to have forgotten the promises he made to them during tickets allocation. BCs have been demanding the political parties to give at least 50% of seats to them as per their share in the population. But Jagan giving less than 25% seats to BCs and giving more than 30% seats to his own Reddy community, that has less than 10% population in the state is not going well with the people of backward castes. Earlier, he disappointed Kapu community by saying he will not support reservations for Kapu community in a public meeting.
We will have to wait and see how this will impact the election result and the fate of y s Jagan.
