Naidu’s Hyderabad rented house being made bullet-proof

On one side chief minister Chandrababu Naidu says from June 15 he would attend the secretariat being planned at Amaravati every day. He tells all the employees of Andhra Pradesh government residing in Hyderabad to relocate themselves to Amaravati. On the other, his temporary residence at Hyderabad is still imposing huge financial burden on the state which, in his own words, is in sever financial crisis. The rented premises is being converted into a fortress, even though he has already made Vijayawada his home.

State government is planning to make Naidu’s Hyderabad house bullet-proof to make the life of chief minister more secure in Telangana capital. There is no meaning in the spending of money on security arrangements, when he wants the whole state government function from Amaravati from June 15, 2016.

On Tuesday state government accorded permission to procure bullet proof glass for the temporary house located at Plot No 369/B, Road No. 24, Near Peddamma Temple, Jubilee Hills Hyderabad.

Government is procuring 11 bullet proof glass sheets are being procured from M/S Streit Armoring Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai at cost of Rs 37 lakhs. This Hyderabad house of Naidu is being made bullet proof at the advice of intelligence department, which perceives threat for Naidu in Hyderabad.

Naidu has been living in this rented premises since April 2015 as he was constructing a new house in the place of his own house located on Road No 65, Jubilee Hills.

The state has already spent about Rs 73.50 lakh to provide solar power fencing and CCTV system for the temporary residence.
