Chandrababu’s hostile behavior is older than Jagan’s political career

“Who do you think I am? You look like a slave of the congress government. When our government is formed, let me see where you will be” the golden words from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to a Superintendent of Police.

This behavior is bygone for Chandrababu. There are so many such incidents in the past where the CM has threatened officials. This history is older than Jagan’s political career as such. The TDP leader who now claims to support feminism, in the past came back on a woman commissioner in a huff calling her “Useless fellow, stupid”. His trademark way of ending an abuse is “will see your end”. His tantrums as the leader of opposition is something officials will not forget easily. Have these threats stopped after 2014, unfortunately they haven’t.

Jagan is following the CM when it comes to threatening. However, the right thing for Chandrababu has now become a wrong thing for Jagan. It is a wide of the mark to belittle any official. The TDP leader took a jibe at Jagan’s misbehavior with the collector. He jested that this behavior was due to frustration and constant fear of landing in jail. The man who can smile when things go wrong for others has thought of someone else he can blame it on when it comes on him.

IAS Officers Association decided to lodge a formal complaint with Chandrababu about Jagan’s high-handed behaviour. What will the CM do, snub at them in front of juniors at the meeting. Recently the Hindu reported “In all, 11 IAS officers had submitted their requests to Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker, pleading with the government to allow them to go to New Delhi by May last year”

Are the officials troubled? Why are they forced to be silent about Chandrababu treatment? Is the IAS Officers Association aware of the distressed officers and transfer requests? Is this complaint against leader of opposition a well-planned thought to create hype?

As the things unfold, it is very unlikely to expect from the bureaucrats to speak about the clatters between officers and peoples representatives.
