YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly criticized the ongoing governance in Andhra Pradesh, particularly targeting what he called “unchecked corruption in Amaravati”. He alleged that the current coalition government is misusing public funds under the guise of development, calling it a “looting spree in the name of mobilization advances.”
Speaking at a meeting, Jagan highlighted that while high-end construction projects in cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru are executed at approximately ₹4,000 per square foot, similar works in Amaravati are being inflated to a shocking ₹10,000 per square foot. “This is not development, this is daylight robbery,” he declared.
Jagan didn’t stop there. He accused the coalition government of ruling through deception. “Their governance is built on lies and fraud. Justice and dharma have completely disappeared under this administration,” he said. He described the political atmosphere under Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership as a reflection of “Kaliyuga politics,” implying a decline in moral and ethical values.
Touching on legal persecution, he added, “Putting someone in jail isn’t just a legal action, it’s an attack on their dignity and self-respect.” However, he expressed confidence that people would see through the coalition’s governance and bring the YSRCP back to power after three years.
Legal Wing: A Pillar of Strength
Jagan addressed party-affiliated advocates and stressed the crucial role of the legal community in safeguarding justice.
“Justice happens only when lawyers file petitions and present strong arguments in court,” he stated, underlining the importance of legal professionals in upholding democratic values. He assured that the party recognizes and values the efforts of its legal wing, calling it a “pillar of strength.”
Reflecting on his past tenure, Jagan reminded attendees of the welfare initiatives launched by the previous YSRCP government for advocates, including:
– Allocation of ₹100 crore to the Advocates’ Welfare Fund
– Government covering one-third of insurance premiums for lawyers
– Introduction of ‘Law Nestham’, a financial support scheme for young advocates
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to continuing support for the legal fraternity and ensuring that their contributions are never forgotten.
As Andhra Pradesh marches ahead, Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP seem to have found their favorite political strategy the timeless “victim card.” With every press meet, public gathering and legal cell gathering, the party is more focused on portraying itself as the noble sufferer in a grand conspiracy.
