After a brief lull at the Bollywood box office post Sultan, Aamir Khan’s latest sports drama, Dangal, has set the cash registers ringing with a phenomenal opening worldwide. The sporting saga, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, took a sensational start at the box office with record openings in all areas. The film, which explores the life story of Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, boasts clap-worthy performances by Aamir Khan and the four girls who played Geetha and Babita.
Dangal registered sensational figures on its opening day. Trade circles revealed that the film has notched up 30 Crores including all versions. In overseas, Dangal embarked on a striking start with $325,096 K on Wednesday, followed by a solid Thursday with $ 504,000 K gross. On Friday, trade is expecting a superb haul and the film has already plundered close to 1M(counting). With the Christmas weekend setting in, Dangal is set for a dream run in overseas.
