Telugu films continue to dominate the OS box office with their steady run in all areas. All three Sankranthi releases had a moderate Saturday and registered better numbers than Friday.
Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150 is inching towards becoming the all time third highest grossing Telugu film in OS. The film has collected $ 80K on second Saturday and total is $ 2363K, which is $ 85K short of Nithiin’s A..Aa. Also, this is the first time after GPSK release, Khaidi No 150 managed to collect more on a single day. The reduced ticket prices are helping the film big time.
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Gauthamiputra Satakarni has breached the $ 1.5M mark with the Saturday gross of $ 74K. Balakrishna’s visit to US has no great impact on the collections. Nevertheless, the film has already ensured profits for all parties involved and has entered the list of top ten highest grossers in OS.
Despite stiff competition from two big ticket films, Sharwanand’s Shathamanam Bhavathi amassed $ 64k on Saturday, taking the total to $ 653K.
All these three films will be looking to extend their steady run on Sunday. With no big ticket films slated for release in the coming few days, Sankranthi films will aim to cross some more milestones in OS.
