In a major development for Andhra Pradesh, global tech company Google is planning to set up large-scale operations in Amaravati. Google officials have been holding serious talks with the state government to launch important projects, including a YouTube Academy and using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve how the government works.
To support this plan, the government has identified 143 acres of land near Nekkallu, along the NH-16 highway. This location is close to the upcoming Amaravati airport and railway station, making it perfect for such a major investment. On Friday, Google representatives along with state officials visited the land to examine its suitability.
As part of their partnership, both sides have launched a new program called ‘AI for Andhra Pradesh, Powered by Google’. Through this, Google will help bring AI technology into areas like farming, healthcare, and public services. It will also help students and working professionals learn new AI-related skills. The partnership aims to support small businesses and traditional industries by helping them move towards digital systems. Google will also give a boost to the startup culture in the state by providing the latest technology.
One of the major focuses will be on training the youth of Andhra Pradesh for future jobs in AI. Google plans to open special training academies, including the YouTube Academy, which will teach local youngsters how to make and share digital content online.
To make all this possible, the state government is fast-tracking infrastructure work in Amaravati. This move shows that big international companies like Google have growing trust in Andhra Pradesh as a strong future hub for technology and innovation.
