Even though a few earlier films of Superstar Mahesh Babu have been dubbed in Tamil, the actor’s new film ‘SPYder’ is being perceived as his first big opportunity to tap the Tamil market. Hence the makers have decided not to leave any stone unturned to promote the film in a huge way in Tamil Nadu as well as overseas where there is a sizeable proportion of Tamil population.
Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai are the three Tamil-dominated overseas territories, where the Spyder team will travel in a special private jet to promote the film. Media will also accompany them. Interaction with media and fans will follow. Makers are not deterred by the cost involved as there is a potential market for Tamil films in the aforementioned countries. Moreover, Spyder looks to be a Hollywoodish film which can please overseas audiences.
Plans are underway to release the film’s trailer on the eve of Mahesh’s birthday, on August 9. Spyder will have a worldwide release in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi on September 27. Post-production works are currently underway for this spy thriller being made with high technicalities.
