Telangana Urban development and Information Technology minister K Tarakarama Rao is on Singapore tour to attract investments to the Telangana State.On Wednesday, the minister had met some of the dignitaries and business leaders including CEO of Surbana Jurong Mr.Teo Eng Cheong.
KTR is known for emulating Andhra Pradesh Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s methodology in many ways. On positive side, emulation parameters include extensively touring foreign countries to woo investors, convincing some tech giants to invest in our state and hard working round the clock. Long story short, now KTR is following in the latter’s footsteps in Singaporean way. Interesting fact is, “Surbana Jurong” company , with whom KTR met yesterday, is none other than the urban specialist company which had designed the master development plan for Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. On December 08 2014, Andhra Pradesh government , in presence of Chief minister Chandrababu, had signed MoU with International Enterprise (IE) Singapore for design of master plan of Amaravati. Yesterday KTR has met Mr.Cheong (erstwhile IES CEO , now Surbana CEO) and sought partnership with “Surbana Jurong” in Telangana government’s pharma city project , also in multi-storied building project in Hyderabad. Now, it will be an interesting positive race between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments seeking Singapore companies’ investments.
