Mahaa TV news reporters and crew have been reportedly attacked in Vizianagaram. The unidentified attackers broke into the ZP guest house premises where the Mahaa TV crew was positioned, and hurled stones at the windows, breaking the windows glasses. Mahaa TV alleged that it is an attempt to induce the element of fear in the crew. The broadcasting equipment has been the prime target of this well-planned attack.
Mahaa TV news has been active in conducting the ‘Delhi Tho Dhee Ki Andhra Dhee’, a public awareness program aimed at people’s against the Centre over AP Special Category Status.
The TV channel has pointed fingers at the ruling government and trying to establish that either supporter of TDP or BJP has indulged in this attack. The local police officials have paid a visit to the place of incident, and are investigating the case.
Meanwhile, social media and media analysts believe that it is a cooked up story. ‘Looking at the whole scene, I believe that Mahaa TV is trying to make up a story. If the attackers wanted to obstruct the program, they attack could have taken place in Vishakhapatnam itself. But that didn’t happen. The police should come up with the truths,’ said a media analyst under anonymity.
P.S: Mahaa TV confirmed that there are no CCTV cameras at the guest house, and no security personnel were present at the time of the attack.
