Tollywood’s latest runaway hit Mahanati, which released with good expectations, is having a dream run at box office. After taking a decent start in Telugu states last Wednesday, the Savitri biopic has been minting strong revenues due to the glowing word of mouth and rave reviews from all corners.
With a strong first weekend haul, Mahanati has set sights on emerging as a solid hit in its full run. Continuing its strong hold on weekdays, the film is pulling in good crowds and the numbers have phenomenally improved with each passing day. As no biggies are slated for release in the next couple of weeks and Bharat Ane Nenu and Rangasthalam slowed down, Mahanati is expected to extend its dream run.
In overseas, the film has already emerged as a blockbuster with a $ 1.6M weekend. Trade circles are expecting a good second week as well due to the strong word of mouth among overseas audience.
Directed by Nag Aswhin, Mahanati has Keerthi Suresh in the lead role and produced by Ashwini Dutt.
