Legendary actress Savitri’s biopic titled Mahanati is one among the most awaited Telugu films. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the film is inching completion. Veteran actors NTR and ANR have done number of films with the actress and without their characters the film looks incomplete. Though Naga Chaitanya stepped out to reprise his grandfather ANR on screen, NTR Jr refused to play the role of his grandfather NTR in Mahanati.
The makers considered several actors for NTR but they were not convinced. Now after an enough search, Nag Ashwin and his team felt that the digital insertion of the NTR and ANR is the best thing they can do for the film. Some of their scenes from the original movies will be mastered and they will be inserted in the film as per the news from a source. However their screen presence will be reduced than earlier as too much insertion of episodes will not go well with the audience.
While Keerthy Suresh is playing Savitri on screen, Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda and Dulquer Salman will be seen in other pivotal roles. Vyjayanthi Movies is bankrolling this prestigious project and Mahanati has been announced for summer release.
