Superstar Prince Mahesh Babu carries an enviable reputation in overseas and the box office prospects of his recent movies serve as a testimony on why he has got no real competitors in the present generation. He has got as many as 6 million dollar films in the US, a rare feat which is not seen by any other male actor in South. His last outing Brahmotsavam, despite being termed as the biggest flop in his career, managed to surpass the 1 Million mark.
Although the overseas distributors incurred huge loss with Brahmotsavam, the craze for Mahesh Babu’s films hasn’t dropped an inch. It is well known that the ‘Srimanthudu’ actor will next team up with AR Murugadoss for a big budget action drama. Even before the commencement of its shoot, trade circles are very much in anticipation for the film. It is believed that a popular distribution house has offered 15 Crores for the overseas rights of the film. But, the makers have turned down the offer and are looking for a bigger price.
Sources say that the combination of Mahesh and Murugadoss is creating huge ripples in the trade circles and the project is likely to do a solid business before its release. The regular shooting will commence from mid July and Bollywood diva Parineeti Chopra will share screen space with Mahesh in the film.
