Mersal Overseas, Mersal Million Dollar

Tamil biggie Mersal which took a strong opening on Oct 18th, is having a dream run at the worldwide box office. The social drama has punched out 100 Crores gross in just four days after its release and set up an unprecedent record for being the fastest film to touch the prestigious mark.

In overseas, too, Mersal is unstoppable. After creating a non Rajinikanth record for Tamil films with $ 400K from premiers, Mersal remained steady at the overseas box office towards the first weekend and the latest trade reports suggest that the film has zoomed past the million dollar mark. The Vijay starer collected $ 207K and $ 135K on Friday and Saturday. Mersal is the eighth Tamil film to collect one million dollars in overseas. This is the first million dollar film for Vijay.

Directed by Atlee, Mersal stars Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Nitya Menon as the female leads. Thenandal Studios banner has produced this film.
