Bihar CM Nitish Kumar today gave tit for tat to Modi. It is known news that BJP gave only one ministerial berth to JDU in the recently expanded cabinet. Now, Nitish Kumar expanded his cabinet today and inducted 8 JD-U MLAs and left out the ally BJP without giving any ministries.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, JDU won 16 out of 17 seats contested. BJP won all the 17 seats it contested. However, JDU got only one ministry in Modi’s cabinet. Nitish, probably as a retort to Modi’s step, today expanded his cabinet. With this Nitish Kumar Cabinet now has 33 ministers, up from 25. Nitish sent very clear signals that he is unhappy with BJP’s recent cabinet and Modi. The timing of his cabinet expansion shocked political analysts as well and many of them expecting split between JDU and BJP before Bihar assembly elections. Some other leaders of JDU already started giving statements that JDU will not be part of NDA in future.
However, many people are wondering whether Nitish Kumar will sustain his rebellion against Modi. It is known fact that Modi and Amit Shah duo have been ruthless against their political opponents. As per some analysts, Modi-Shah duo can go to any extent to twist the arms of politicians who raise red flag against them. So, it is still doubtful whether Nitish will and can sustain this red flag against Modi for long or not.
