The last day of nominations ended today for Huzurnagar assembly by-election. A large number of candidates have filed their nominations with almost all mainstream political parties fielding their candidates.
There are no alliances like Mahakutami in this poll. The main fight is between TRS nominee Saidi Reddy and Congress party’s Padmavati. The other candidates who filed nominations are Chava Kiranmayee (TDP), Parepalli Sekhar Rao (CPM), etc.
Interestingly, a large number of advocates and sarpanches have filed their nominations out of protest against the government not solving their problems. This was similar to how turmeric farmers filed nominations against Kalvakuntla Kavita leading to her defeat in Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat this year.
Now, the last day for withdrawal of nominations in Huzurnagar is October 3. The officials will scrutinise nominations on October 1. The by-election polling will be held on October 21.
