Samantha’s Smart Choices in Movies

The cute and bubbly Samantha started off her career in Tollywood as the stern yet adorable girl next door in Gautham Menon’s ‘Em Maaya Chesaave ‘. Her beginnings were quite sober with plain looks yet amazing in the way she carried the saree outfit. Many men in Telugu households became a fan of Samantha’s saree draping and the way she brought back a beautiful attraction to it.

But the actress outgrew herself admirably with interesting film choices right from the word go. She tried to come out of the girl next door image with a glamorous role in Jr.NTR’s ‘Brundavanam’ which was a smashing hit. But the best in the store was when she acted in S.S.Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’ in which she played the role of a micro artist who is stalked by a lustful businessman played by Sudeep. It was then her real acting skills and performance could be seen by the audience.

When Sam got married to her long-lasting love and first movie co-star Naga Chaitanya, many eyebrows were raised about her career post-wedding. Will she confine to only certain kinds of roles? Or like most of the female leads in South Indian Cinema, will her career go off the hook? But the way Sam has transformed as a complete actress after her wedding is commendable. Her post-wedding releases like ‘ Rangasthalam ‘, U-Turn, Majili and Tamil flick Super Deluxe shows how smart her choices are. Every role demanded her to act with versatility and she pulled off each look with so much care and perfection.

Just when the audience felt Samantha has already reached her best, she came up with Nandini Reddy’s ‘Oh Baby’ in which she had to emote as a 70-year-old woman in 24-year old’s body. Her body language, facial expressions are getting rave reviews and appreciation unanimously. It was indeed a challenge for a young actress like her to imitate the body language of a senior most actress like Lakshmi. But Samantha pulled off the role with such perfection and grace that she is termed as the most versatile female lead of Tollywood right now!

All in all, Samantha is giving some great goals for all those aspiring female leads who feel that the career span of actresses in the film industry goes off with time.
