Gemini TV, part of Sun TV group, has acquired the rights of all upcoming biggies. Satellite rights of Balakrishna’s ‘Ruler’, Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ and Allu Arjun’s ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ were snapped up by this leading entertainment channel. Digital rights of ‘Ruler’ and ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramlo’ also belong to this group.
As Zee TV has cut down the budget on acquiring movies, Gemini TV is spending huge money to gain the market. This is a boon to the producers. But the channel is not paying big money to digital rights.
Regarding ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’, all the money that comes from digital and satellite rights is going to the pockets of Mahesh Babu. He has not taken remuneration. He is a partner in the movie and the money from satellite, digital and dubbing rights will be with him.
