Jagan shows doors to former minister Anam

0

In a swift move, YSR Congress president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy showed the door to former minister and Venkatagiri MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy. The chief minister named Nedurumilli Ram Kumar Reddy as the party coordinator for the constituency represented by Anam Ramanarayana Reddy.

Ramanarayana Reddy, who has been sulking for not taking him into the cabinet, had intensified his attack on the state government. He is using the public platform to criticise the government and in a short period, he had earned the name as another Raghurama Krishnam Raju for the YSR Congress.

Ramanarayana Reddy criticised the government headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy for not developing the state. He said that the party would not win the election just because the government is paying pensions. He made several hard-hitting comments against the party leadership and the government.

On Tuesday, Ramanarayana Reddy said that the party would not win the next election scheduled in 2024. He said that the party had lost the faith of the people and it would not win the election held any time from now.

The party leadership reacted swiftly to these damaging remarks by the sitting MLA. Jagan Mohan Reddy had directed the party to announce the name of former chief minister Nedurumilli Janardhana Reddy’s son Ram Kumar Reddy to take care of the party affairs in the Venkatagiri constituency.

It is now to be seen what step Anam Ramanarayana Reddy would make following his removal from the party position in the constituency.

Anam is one of the 40 MLAs who may not get ticket

1

AP Chief Minister and ruling YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had made up his mind to drop at least 40 sitting MLAs for the 2024 general election. He had given enough indication to these MLAs in the last four months.

Jagan Mohan Reddy held two rounds of meetings with the party MLAs, district unit presidents and the regional coordinators in the past where he named some of the MLAs who were not performing well. He also announced the names of some MLAs who were not taking part in the door-to-door campaign that was started by the party and the state government as well in March 2022.

The chief minister has asked every MLA to visit every house and get feedback. While a good number of MLAs have taken active part in the programme, it was noticed that these MLAs were not showing any interest, despite Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cautions.

Former minister and MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy is said to be one of these 40 non-performing MLAs whom Jagan Mohan Reddy had warned at the party internal meetings.

Ramanarayana Reddy had been inactive for the past some time as he was denied a cabinet berth in the recent reshuffle. Though Ramanarayana Reddy expected a cabinet berth immediately after the 2019 general election, he was disappointed.

Some of the senior leaders along with Ramanarayana Reddy expected that they would be accommodated in the next reshuffle. However, in that too, they could not find a place leading to disappointment.

Ramanarayana Reddy hardly took part in the door-to-door campaign despite repeated warnings from the party leadership. However, this week, he addressed two meetings in his home constituency where he criticised the state government for its failures.

Sources say that Ramanarayana Reddy is likely to switch loyalties to the opposition TDP before the 2024 general elections.

Anam on the way out of YSR Congress

1

Former minister and YSR Congress MLA Ananm Ramanarayana Reddy, is likely to move out of the party. He has been expressing his displeasure over the YSR Congress government for the past two days.

Ramanarayana Reddy, who switched over to the YSR Congress before the 2019 general election. He anticipated a cabinet berth when Jagan Mohan Reddy formed his first cabinet on June 8, 2019. However, he also expected to be inducted into the cabinet when Jagan reshuffled and expanded on April 11, 2022.

He was disappointed at his non-inclusion into the cabinet and since then he had been keeping a low profile in the party. On Wednesday, during his interaction with the party leaders, Ramanarayaana Reddy said that the party had done nothing for the development of Nellore district.

The former minister also said that people would not vote just for giving pensions and cautioned the party leadership of possible defeat. On Thursday again, the former minister expressed his displeasure over the attitude of the party top leadership.

Ramanarayana Reddy said some leaders were claiming to be the next MLA candidate from Venkatagiri Assembly constituency. He said that the YSR Congress was losing its base among the people for its failures.

Looking at his criticism of his own party, the YSR Congress leaders predict that Ramanarayana Reddy is on the way out of the party. They say that the former minister is in touch with the TDP leadership and would switch over to the party just before the elections.

However, it is to be seen what move that this farmer minister would make as the elections are just 15 months away from now!

Jagan unable to control “Reddys war” in Nellore!

0

Two powerful Reddy leaders now in YSRCP and coming from powerful political family backgrounds are openly indulging in tug-of-war in Nellore district.

Despite this, YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is unable to control them and simply watching as a mute spectator. Party circles say this is because Jagan is unable to choose one and confused over whom should be given the priority.

These two leaders are Anam Ramanarayan Reddy and Nedurumalli Ramkumar Reddy. Both were strong leaders in Congress prior to bifurcation of AP. Anam was a key minister in the cabinets of Congress CMs YSR, Rosaiah and Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Ramkumar Reddy is the son of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy.

After bifurcation of AP in 2014 and Congress wiped out from the state, both these leaders jumped into different parties to safeguard their political career. While Anam joined TDP, Nedurumalli joined BJP.

But both left their respective parties and joined YSRCP before 2019 Assembly polls. Anam got elected as MLA from Venkatagiri constituency. Although Nedurumalli also vied for this seat, Jagan gave ticket to Anam.

The differences between Anam and Nedurumalli soon erupted with both the groups trying to gain upper hand over the other. Nedurumalli’s supporters are openly claiming that Jagan has decided to give Venkatagiri Assembly ticket to Nedurumalli in 2024 Assembly polls and Anam will be shifted to Nellore city.

This flared up a political fight between both groups. At this juncture, Jagan nominated Nedurumalli to the chairman post of a government corporation with cabinet rank. This led to protocol issues in the Nellore district as Nedurumalli is getting more priority with his cabinet minister rank while Anam is just an MLA.

This is not being digested by Anam and his supporters. Anam supporters are worried over whether Jagan will continue to give priority to Nedurumalli and shift Anam to Nellore city in the 2024 Assembly polls.
