Water in lieu of cash-for-vote : YSRCP Allegation

0

YSR Congress is suspecting  a water-deal between Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana in the continued release of water from Srisailam reservoir unmindful of the difficult situation being faced by the people of Rayalaseema.  The state was also ignoring the minimum level condition, the party said.

According the Party MLA Gandikota Srikanth Reddy, the evidence is the coincidence of commencement of  water release from  Srisailam dam and cash-for-vote scam. How could it be possible to release water so generously from the reservoir without maintaining the cut off level?, he asked.

Recalling the agitations of farmers to stop the release of water in order to make them available for the people of Rayalaseema,  Srikanth Reddy  demanded that minimum level at 854 ft be maintained in the reservoir.

Wondering at  not maintaining the minimum 854 ft level, he said it was not possible for any government  to release so much water generously, over and above usual  quantity, without  any deal with the Telangana government unless there was an understanding and that  this had happened  in wake of the cash for vote scam was a clear proof for the deal.

The YSRCP MLA also demanded the TDP government an all-party meeting be convened to discuss severe drought situation prevailing in the state and the steps to be taken to provide relief to the farmers. He stressed on the need  provide one-time settlement  of loan-waiver for the farmers as the drought in the state crippled the financial conditions of farmers’ families.

‘The TDP government’s indifference towards drought is objectionable. We demand that an all-party meeting be convened to discuss the steps to be taken to mitigate the situation,’ Party MLA G Srinkant Reddy  said. The party  also demanded that the Government to clear all the loans of farmers in a single installment which would alone benefit the farmer .

‘Reiterating that Rayalseema is being neglected badly, he said that the irrigation projects which were near completion during the term of YSR are still pending and Chandrababu Naidu is concentrating only on one region,’ he said.

He is the most corrupt politician in the country. Every Friday he attend the court to face trial in more than a dozen cases. He has no moral right to talk on Chandrababu Naidu,” they said.

Reacting to the allegation Jagan said it was Chandrababu Naidu who hobnobbed with KCR . Showing a picture of KCR and Naidu campaigning jointly in 2009 elections, Jagan said,” the TDP has a lot to answer on the cash -for-votes scam.,” he also hurled a challenge that he would resign in minutes from the Assembly if the ruling TDP offered proof that he had spoken to or written a letter to Telangana CM KCR. Naidu, Pl Take Up Sec.8 with Prez: Botsa

0

YSR Congress has demanded the TDP to place its apprehensions on Section 8 of State Reorganisation Act 2014 before President Pranab Mukherjee and seek clarification.

The party also advised Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu to get his reservations about governor ESL Narasimhan clarified from the president as he is the appointing authority of the governor.

“Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet colleagues have been raising a hue and cry over the implementation of Section 8, more so after the cash-for-vote scam has come to light. The chief minister should make best use of the time as the Implementing authority (the governor) and his appointing authority (the president) are in city,” party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana said.

Stating that the TDP had revived the controversy over Section 8 after its MLA was caught by ACB while trying to bribe a fellow MLA, Botsa said TDP had gone on the offensive and called the Governor names.

Though Chandrababu Naidu was allotted an additional 30 minutes time on Tuesday with the President Pranab Mukherjee, there seems to be no mention of the controversy they have raised on the implementation of the issue, he added.

Botsa demanded that Naidu broach the issue with President in the presence of the governor, extract a reply and issue statement.
