It is also his first Solo film to collect more than half million dollars at USA Box-Office

    Coming to profit loss details, the film has collected a distributor share of $440,590 which comes down to $314,590 ie, 2.00 Crores INR after deducting the expenses like VPF & Publicity.     The strong box office success of Chalo has given a new lease of life for Naga Shaurya’s low lying career. He is now awaiting the release of his upcoming film Ammamma Gari Illu which is set for release this Summer.

    With Chalo emerging as a blockbuster in overseas, trade circles are evincing interest on his upcoming films. So, the makers of Ammamma Gari Illu are trying to cash in as much as possible.

    As per our sources, the producers are quoting around 1.2 Crores for the overseas rights. If they manage to get offers in this range, they can recoup a good portion of their investment before the film’s release.

    Ammamma Gari Illu is directed by Sundar and the film marks the return of Oye fame Shamili to Tollywood.

    Last Friday Naga Shaurya’s Chalo and Ravi Teja’s Touch Chesi Chudu released amid good buzz with a decent screen count in overseas.

    Chalo is a big hit

    Chalo has set the cash registers ringing from Thursday premiers and notched up superb figures by the end of its first weekend. Surprising the trade circles, Chalo took a better start than Touch Chesi Chudu on its Thursday premiers with $ 93K. The film, with its positive word of mouth and decent reviews, collected strong haul on Friday ($ 136K)and Saturday ( $ 193K ) respectively. With Sunday collections ( $ 76K), the film entered the half million dollar mark and thereby emerging as a big hit in overseas.

    All exhibitors and distributors are into profit zone by the end of first weekend.

    Touch Chesi Chudu ends a disaster

    Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Touch Chesi Chudu has fallen flat in its first weekend. After a lukewarm opening with $ 81K on premiers, the commercial potboiler couldn’t sustain at the box office due to the embarrassing reviews and poor word of mouth.

    The film collected meagre figures on Friday and Saturday ( below $ 50K on each day) and disappointed the trade circles. By the end of Sunday ( $ 19K), the film has completely fizzled out and has been termed as a huge loss venture with an overall gross below $ 200K.

    Bhaagamathie joins the elite club

    Anushka’s Bhaagamathie, which collected $ 870K in its first weekend, collected decent figures in the second weekend to join the elite one million dollar club in overseas.

    Anushka now holds a unique record of having the first lady oriented film from South to feature in the one million dollar club.

    He is not keen on releasing the film on December 29th as Allu Sirish’s Okka Kshanam and Sunil’s Two Countries have been slated for release during the week. Considering the pre-festival collections and Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi in mind, Naga Shourya decided to walk out of the race. Naga Shourya’s home production IRA Creations bankrolled this prestigious project and Chalo will now hit the screens during February 2018.

    Chalo teaser : A commercial take on feud in border villages

    Chalo teaser review

    Young and handsome actor Naga Shaurya is back with an interesting film titled as Chalo. Directed by debutant Venky Kudumula, the film has Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. The first look teaser of the film has been unveiled today evening by Trivikram Srinivas.

    The one minute teaser gives a brief glimpse of what’s in store for audience after the film’s release. Chalo is set in the backdrop of 1950’s in an Andhra – Tamil border village Tirupuram. The teaser hints that the story is about a feud that followed the delineation of a village into two which separated Andhra and Tamil people. It looks like the director has chosen a commercial path to showcase the clash between the two villages.

    Naga Shaurya, who was mostly in boy next door roles till now, seems to have got a rough and rugged character in this film. The production values also look promising in the teaser.

    Chalo is slated to hit the screens in December.
