Exclusive: Ajay Bhupathi’s Karna

After making a strong impact in Telugu cinema with his debut film RX 100, Ajay Bhupathi delivered a disaster like Maha Samudram. His recent film Mangalavaram received critical acclaim and did decent in theatres. Ajay Bhupathi is ready with a couple of scripts and he decided to take up an action thriller. The film is titled Karna and the hunt for the lead actor is currently on. A couple of young actors are in talks with Ajay Bhupathi and things will be finalized soon. Mythri Movie Makers will produce Karna with Ajay Bhupathi.

He is also penning the script of Mangalavaram 2 and the filming commences next year. He is looking at possible Bollywood collaborations to co-produce Mangalavaram 2 as the film will be made on a pan-Indian scale. Ajay Bhupathi is currently locking the scripts of Karna and Mangalavaram 2 currently. He is holding talks with a couple of top producers for his upcoming movies and he is in plans to announce two films soon.

Suriya’s Rs 350 Cr Film Shelved?

Tamil actor Suriya has been working hard to prove his mettle in all the other Indian languages. He has been in frequent touch with directors of Telugu and Hindi languages. He has been in talks with critically acclaimed Bollywood director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and the film is titled Karna. The film is a big-budget periodic drama and is planned on a budget of Rs 350 crores. The pre-production work has begun and the entire cast for the film was locked. Janhvi Kapoor is the leading lady and the film has Ali Fazal, Vijay Verma and Avinash Tiwari in other important roles.

As per the ongoing news, the film is said to have been shelved. The makers have spent Rs 15 crores on the pre-production work, look tests and advances. Karna happens to be the dream project of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and he has been working on the film for years. The real reasons are yet to be known. Excel Entertainment and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Films are the producers. The shoot was planned to commence this year and the film had to have a pan-Indian release next year.

Climax episode of NBK102 done and dusted

The regular shooting of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s forthcoming film is happening at a rapid pace. The makers have already confirmed that the film will make it to screens on January 13th as a Sankranthi treat for audience. Karna and Jaya Simha are the titles in consideration for this action drama.

The latest reports reveal that the climax episode of the film has been wrapped up in the recently concluded schedule. A massive fight sequence involving the principal cast was shot in this schedule. With this, majority of the talkie part has been completed.

Interesting Title considered for NBK 102

Nandamuri Balakrishna is busy balancing his film shoots and his political engagements. He already managed to release two films Gautamiputra Satakarni and Paisa Vasool this year. The actor is occupied with the shoot of his next film which is helmed by KS Ravikumar. Though Jayasimha was the working title, the makers are now in search for other interesting titles for this mass and action entertainer.

The makers are keen on ‘Karna’ as the film’s title however the makers are yet to lock the title. Balakrishna too felt that Karna will be an apt title for the film and it is yet to be registered. Nayanthara and Natasha Doshi are the female leads in the movie which is bankrolled by C Kalyan. The makers are in plans to release the film during Sankranthi 2018.

Why is Nag taking a back step for Mahabharata?

King Nagarjuna seems to be a happy man after he watched the first copy of Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam in which his son Naga Chaitanya played the lead role. The movie is hitting the screens this Friday and Nag too has been promoting the movie. During his interview, the actor revealed that he has been approached for the role of Karna in the prestigious film Mahabharata. He even revealed that he worked with the film’s director Sukumaran for a commercial. However the actor is yet to give his nod for the film.

The makers are still unclear about the shooting schedules and allotting bulk dates for the film will disturb Nag’s other commitments. He asked them to come up with the exact dates of shoot as the actor has been quite interested to play Karna. Nag even revealed that he read the book on which the film is being made. Mahabharata is expected to start rolling next year and it will release in 2020. Mohanlal is playing Bheema in the movie and the pre-production work of the film is currently under process.
