Mental Madhilo Flop at Box-office

Mental Madhilo will end up as a Flop at Box-office as it won’t be even collecting 1cr theatrical share in domestic market in it’s complete run. Film opened with very low Collections on Day One, had very limited growth over the weekend and weekdays collections are low again. The film carried very good pre-release reports like last year Blockbuster Pellichoopulu which was also produced by Raj Kandukuri. But the case is not the same with post release reports being very mixed.

These sort of films generally do well at USA Box-office atleast but this ain’t be doing much there too as it will end up collecting a maximum 200 thousand Dollars. Being released on 70 locations, distributor share will be just 40k USD(26 lakhs INR) after all expenses.

YuppTV has bagged Digital, Satellite and Overseas Distribution Rights for Mental Madhilo

YuppTV collaborates with Producer Raj Kandukuri, Suresh Productions and Freeze Frame Films to enable access of the movie to Telugu Expat audience across the Globe

Hyderabad, November 2017: YuppTV, the global leader for South-Asian OTT content is teaming up with the prominent producers and distributors to provide expat audiences with easier access to new movie releases. To the same end, YuppTV has bagged the digital and satellite rights for distributing Mental Madhilo, a Telugu movie starring Sri Vishnu and Nivetha Pethuraj, directed by Vivek Athreya and produced by Raj Kandukuri.

YuppTV has also partnered with Freeze Frame Films for the overseas distribution of Mental Madhilo. Together with Producer, Raj Kandukuri, Suresh Productions and Freeze Frame Films, YuppTV has initiated an ecosystem that would offer Indian expats access to latest movie releases.

Soul Tickling, heart-touching ‘Mental Madhilo’

Curious title, quirky teaser and soulful music pulled me into the theatre and i could not be more glad to have made this film my weekend watch!

The magic created by debutant director Vivek Athreya in Mental Madhilo is visible right from first scene-first frame.

Aravind Krishna, a confused soul who cannot even decide what shirt to wear is always pushed to a corner to take critical decisions and every single time, he puts up a confused expression, as audience we cannot but empathise with him!

No melodramatic monologues, no running around trees songs to display heroine’s glamour, and no fights to display hero’s machismo- yet the film manages to keep us hooked to our seats the entire time.

Not just the protagonist, but every single character is entertaining, natural and adds value to the film. In fact, i don’t remember the last time i have heard such realistic conversations on screen in Telugu cinema.

The portrayal of different relationships such as mother-daughter, hero-his roommates, father-son is so natural that makes it all the more relatable to our everyday lives. And this is what makes the film an wholesome family entertainer in its true sense. The background music, songs and the entire set up is pure and fresh like the first rain of a monsoon.

This film has a flavour that’s as unique and as authentic as Guntur gongura Pacchadi or a Hyderabadi Biryani. It’s an experience you wouldn’t want to miss!!!

Mental Madhilo is such a movie that will leave good impact among the audience with its simple story , interesting narration and unexpected twirls.

Here is the complete review of the film:

Story:

Aravind Krishna (Sree Vishnu) is born with a peculiar confusion state and he stays puzzled if he is asked to select one option amongst many. He is shy , runs away from girls and his parents struggle alot to find a girl for him. Finally, the day arrives and Swetcha (Nivetha Pethuraj) is the girl who has utmost clarity in all the things.

Aravind witnesses a massive change in his life soon and right before his engagement with Swetcha, Aravind moves to Mumbai on his office work.

During his trip he meets another girl who likes him. Things turn extremely different after he gets confused to choose one. The rest of ‘Mental Madhilo ‘ is all about whom Aravind chooses as his life partner.

Analysis:

Most of our Telugu films in the recent times lacked strong storylines and interesting narration. ‘Mental Madhilo’ has a lean plot. But the debutant director , Vivek Athreya , manages to stand up in the crowd with his narration skills along with the characterizations. Sree Vishnu’s character has been extremely well penned and executed without any flaws. One will fall in love with Swetcha’s practical characterstics. The audience will be left disappointed initially with the arrival of the third character, Renu , into the plot. Her role appears too cinematic , but the director manages to shine as her character grows. Like Aravind Krishna , audience too get sympathetic about her as we approach final acts.

The first half has been extremely comfortable and is packed with fresh love story and entertaining episodes. The second half of ‘Mental Madhilo’ is not as good as first half but decent and is engaging. The climax episodes elevate the film well and leave the audience impressive. ‘Mental Madhilo’ is a pleasant journey and will impress the audience right from the first frame.

On flipside , in second half for sometime movie is bit slow but suspense is well maintained.

Performances:

Sree Vishnu proved his mettle as an actor earlier and his subtle performance throughout the film is the major highlight of Mental Madhilo. The actor has been extremely impressive throughout the movie. He has very bright future in Tollywood. Nivetha Pethuraj’s natural performance will strike hard and will be remembered for a long time. The other actress who played Renu is look alike of Vidya Balan , initial impression would be she is kind of miscast for this role. However, her performance is decent and is impressive as movie progresses. Sivaji Raja is very good in hero’s father role. All the other actors have been extremely impressive.

Technical Aspects:

Vivek Athreya tops the show with his flawless directorial abilities. The screenplay and the dialogues look extremely fresh. Vivek has presented this film with sensibilities and mainly in a very family friendly manner . The cinematography looks decent and the music, background score have been apt and soothing. The production values looked decent.

Verdict:

Mental Madhilo is a fun, romantic story with a very fresh treatment. Laced with lighter emotions , this journey of Aravind – Swetcha is impressive. Mental Madhilo is a beautiful experience that should not be given a miss by class movie lovers

It was a small film titled Pelli Choopulu that made enough noise at the box-office and went on to win National award. The breezy new generation drama even pinned hopes for many small and upcoming directors to make their dreams come true. Now the makers of Pelli Choopulu are back with one more small film Mental Madhilo which is all in news from the past couple of weeks. The film has been screened for various celebrities and they took social media to leave the film in heaps of praises.

Vivek Athreya is making his debut as director with Mental Madhilo and Sree Vishnu, Nivetha Pethuraj played the lead roles. The preview talk has been decent except some flaws during the second half. On the whole, there are reports that Mental Madhilo is a complete commercial package. There are even talks that Vivek Athreya will sure direct a noted actor in his second and a top production house already locked him for a prestigious project. Sree Vishnu who received critical acclaim for his performance could not taste success and Mental Madhilo is the right film for his bounce back told the audience who watched the special premieres.

Suresh Babu bags a small Film

Veteran producer Suresh Babu who is known for his business calculations has been acquiring the theatrical rights of various small films. He joined hands with Raj Kandukuri last year for Pelli Choopulu and the movie ended up as a massive hit. Now he happened to watch Mental Madhilo featuring Sri Vishnu and Nivetha Pethuraj in the lead roles. The trailer of the film has been quite impressive and is said to be a breezy romantic entertainer.

Suresh Babu along with Dharmapatha Creations will release the movie next month. Suresh Babu is said to have been completely impressed with the film. The makers of Pelli Choopulu are back with another romantic tale Mental Madhilo. The film stars promising actor Sree Vishnu and debutante Nivetha Pethuraj in the lead roles. The theatrical trailer of the film was unveiled today by producer Suresh Babu.

The two minute trailer promises a lovely romantic tale between a plain speaking guy and a practical and modern girl. The trailer starts off with a cute conversation between the lead pair who meet during their ‘Pelli Choopulu’ and then proceed on a crazy vacation before their marriage. Things take an unexpected turn which changes the course of their relation. This seems to be the crucial point in the film’s plot which ends the trailer on an interesting note.

Sree Vishnu is at his entertaining best and Nivetha looks very cute in the trailer. The dialogues laden with humour and the refreshing music score given by Prasanth R Vihari makes this a promising trailer which increases the expectations on the film.

The trailer is very impressively cut in a way to create good hype on the film. The production values also look very promising. Directed by Vivek Athreya, the film is produced by Raj Kandukuri.
