Swami Paripoornananda becomes active again, attacks YSRCP government

0

After a long hiatus of two years, political Swami Paripoornananda has began speaking up again. This time again, he is taking up the issue of Hindutwa and attacks on Hindu temples. The other day, he addressed a strongly-worded press conference where he took on the TTD and said the TDP was going against the Hindu interests.

Paripoornananda had joined the BJP ahead of the 2018 assembly elections in Telangana. He actively campaigned for the BJP and hopped from place to place in a chopper. However, he withdrew into a shell after the BJP was badly mauled in Telagnana. Later, he did not campaign for the BJP in 2019 AP assembly elections and the Lok Sabha elections. For over one year, he has been operating from his Kakinada based Ashram – the Sree Peetham. But, he largely stayed away from politics.

Now, he has become active again. The other day, he took to the press to attack the YSRCP government. He said the YSRCP was treating Hindus as sheep. He said the YSRCP should remember that it had come to power due to the support extended to it by the Hindus. He also targeted endowments minister Vellampalli Srinivas for not protecting the interests of the Hindus.

Interestingly, Paripurnananda has said that his fight would be apolitical and that he would take all political parties along in his fight. He said every political party was welcome and said that if the BJP came forward, he would take the BJP along too. Sources said Paripoornananda wants to emerge as the spearhead of the agitation against YSRCP government and wants all the parties to join in his fight.

TRS complains to EC on Paripoornananda’s demeaning comments on voters

0

Paripoornananda Swamy whom people consider as a yogi so on and so forth has shown his true colours. In an election campaign he was caught on camera where he says, we have to pay the people Rs 200 each for the election campaign and also for getting votes.

It is known news that BJP’s National President Amita Shah chose Paripoornananda Swamy to lead the party’s campaign in Telangana elections. Probably Shah believes Paripoornananda will repeat the magic of Yogi Adityanath in South India. However, this spiritual leader, instead of bringing moral values and honesty into politics, damaged the image of the party as he was caught on camera talking about buying votes and distributing money to people to attend party rallies. The video went viral as he was clearly seen telling to someone that, we need to pay 200/- per person and we should target getting total 20 thousand votes and that is sufficient – in that video. He was also seen insisting the person that ‘we should only pay that money not the local leaders.

Can ‘Andhrawala’ Paripoornanda face Telangana sentiment?

0

Some problem or the other is troubling BJP in Telugu States ever since PM Modi and Amit Shah tried to put the party in the forefront of electoral battles in Telangana and AP.

For quite sometime, rumours are rife that Swamy Paripoornananda of Sreepeetham will lead BJP campaign in Telangana polls and that his name will be announced as BJP’s chief ministerial candidate to polarise Hindu vote bank in their favour. There is also speculation that the Swamiji will contest from Jubilee Hills assembly segment where Andhra settlers and high society people are present in considerable numbers.

For reasons not known, BJP has not announced any candidate for Jubilee Hills ticket in the recently released list of party contestants. The immediate reason for this is stated to be objections from majority BJP leaders in the State, who don’t want the reins of the party Telangana unit to be placed in the hands of the Swamiji. They want someone from among the long-standing leaders to stay on top in the state and the same has been communicated to Delhi leadership.

Sources say that there are many more serious issues going against the Swamiji. Some leaders have already pointed out that Paripoorna hails from Andhra because of which his entry into Telangana politics will never be acceptable by people and it will cause serious harm to BJP’s interests.

There is also another opinion that leaders like KCR and MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi will not leave any opportunity and they will raise Telangana sentiment against Paripoorna. Such a development will not only hurt the Swamiji’s winning chances but also the prospects of all other BJP candidates in the polls.

Paripoorna was born in Nellore city in AP and his religious appeal may not be able to help him overcome strong regional sentiment. He has already entered political realm by joining BJP in the presence of Amith Shah recently and politicians don’t spare anybody while making criticism.

TRS has already started whipping up Telangana sentiment to get political advantage. Will BJP take such a huge risk in favour of Swamiji at this juncture? It is indeed a nail-biting suspense for next few days.

BJP CM candidate may be Paripoornananda in Telangana?

0

Amita Shah, BJP’s National President, is stated to have decided to choose a popular Swamiji to lead the party’s campaign in Telangana elections. For a long time now, the party wants to bring in a spiritual leader with social activism to strengthen itself in South India like how it did by taking services of Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh.

Against this background, Swami Paripoornananda of Sri Peetham fame has come as an immediate choice before BJP leadership considering his widespread connections and his active involvement in socio-political discourses in Southern States. The Hindu monk has also become popular in Telangana after his banishment from Hyderabad by KCR government following his exchange of inflammatory statements with film critic and dalit activist Kathi Mahesh.

Kathi Mahesh was also banned from Telangana capital for his statements against Lord Rama and perpetuation of casteism in Hindu society that were considered to have hurt the sentiments of Hindus leading to social tensions. Paripoornananda threatened to take out a rally to Kathi’s home, which raised temperatures in Hyderabad at that time.

Now, Paripoornananda is invited to meet Amit Shah in Delhi for a second time in past two months. There are already rumours and wild speculation that the Swamiji is a strong choice for BJP to go ahead with its plan to polarise voters along religious lines and draw greater support to the BJP in coming days. Amit Shah is expected to announce Paripoornanda soon as CM candidate for Telangana polls.

BJP’s strategy may change campaign direction altogether in December election.

Paripoornananda slams Babu Gogineni, alleges violation of constitution

0

Swami Paripoornananda, the head of Sri Peetham, is still under house arrest. It is known news that he planned to do Dharmic Yatra in protest of Kathi Mahesh comments. However, now Swami slammed Babu gogineni too and said, Babu is violating constitution.

He opined, in the name of freedom of speech, nobody should hurt the sentiments and emotions of people. He told, doing so is a constitutional violation. He added, Babu gogineni is inspiration for all these people who are making demeaning comments on religion and so he also should be punished as he is doing a constitutional breach.

But even though Swami Paripoornananda comments on Kathi Mahesh hold water as Kathi Mahesh crossed the limits, his comments on Babu Gogineni seem to be not valid. Babu gogineni revealed he is an atheist and as per constitution, he has the right to be an atheist. Moreover, as per Indian Constitution, article 51A, “to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform” is a fundamental duty of every Indian. So, if we go by this article, Babu gogineni is actually following constitution rather than violating it.

It is better if Paripoornananda also leaves the matter here as Kathi Mahesh is already punished by police and nobody wants this issue to be dragged further.
