Tarak turns brand ambassador for IPL

Before one could forget Tarak’s hosting skills for the reality show Bigg Boss, the actor left Star MAA in shock as he rejected to host the second season of the super hit show. Natural Star Nani is expected to step into the shoes of Tarak for Bigg Boss 2. The latest update says that Tarak has been roped in as the brand ambassador for IPL 2018. Star TV who holds the broadcast rights of IPL is localizing the content in Telugu and NTR’s promos will turn key for this IPL Telugu.

A series of promos will be shot on Tarak and will be telecasted throughout the season on Star TV and on Star MAA. Before this, Star India acquired the broadcast rights of IPl from 2018 to 2022 for a record price of 2.55 billion USD (Rs 16,347 crores). IPL 2018 will kick-start on April 7th. Tarak once again joined hands with Star for promoting IPL after a successful show like Bigg Bos. The actor will be shooting for his next film in the direction of Trivikram from the mid of April.

Ram Charan recently revealed a shocking fact about the project saying that no script of the film has been locked for the prestigious project. Charan signed the film without listening to the script trusting Rajamouli blindly. He even said that Rajamouli promised a narration soon. Charan and NTR flew to USA for the look test recently.

“I am yet to hear the script. Rajamouli’s stories have strong content and are character driven. So I signed the film without listening to the script. I even loved the combination” said Charan. Rajamouli locked the plot and he is busy penning the bound script currently. With ample time to start the project, Rajamouli seems not in a hurry. DVV Danayya will bankroll this prestigious project which will start rolling from October this year.

Sources say that he will be seen sporting six pack avatar in the film. This will be second time after Temper, NTR is going to be seen with a chiseled body.

Affordable ticket pricing for Jai Lava Kusa premiers

Young Tiger NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa is gearing up for a grand release on this 21st. Premier shows in overseas will start on 20th in nearly 180 plus locations. In a move to pull more crowds, the overseas distributor of Jai Lava Kusa has fixed the ticket price for premiers at $ 18 and $ 16 on regular days.

Usually, ticket pricing for US premiers will be more than $ 20 for big budget films. All recent Telugu biggies have robbed audience with an exorbitant price of $ 25 and above. So, it is a welcome sign that the ticket price has been brought down to an affordable price for Jai Lava Kusa premiers. This will result in more footfalls in the first weekend irrespective of the talk the film garners.

This new trend will be more encouraging for Indian students and families who patronize films during weekends. We have to wait and see what impact will lowering of ticket prices make on the premiers collections.

Jai Lava Kusa Audio Review — Average at Best

The audio album of NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa was released directly into market yesterday. Comprising four songs sung by talented singers, the album was composed by Devi Sri Prasad which is his third straight collaboration with NTR after Nannaku Prematho and Janatha Garage. Let’s see if the album meets the expectations or not

Song 1 : Raavana
Singer : Divya Kumar
Lyrics : Chandrabose

The album kick starts with a pulsating number sung with energetic vocals by Divya Kumar. The superlative lyrics penned by Chandrabose compares the menacing qualities of Raavana with the protagonist and DSP comes up with an instantly catchy and thumping score with the use of electric guitar. Easily the best song in the album and an instant chartbuster.

Song 2: Tring Tring 
Singer : Jaspreet and Ranina Reddy
Lyrics : Ramjogayya Sastry

Now, we come across a typical peppy number Tring Tring which seems to be a rehash of DSP’s many popular hits. He ropes in talented singer’s duo Jaspreet and Ranina Reddy for this song and embellishes it with a lilting tune which is high on rhythm but lacks novelty. Lyrics by Ramjogayya Sastry are ok.

Song 3: Nee Kallalona 
Singer : Hemachandra
Lyrics :  Chandrabose

The third song in the album is a beautiful melody with music that is rich and resonant produced by a combination of accoustic guitar and keyboard. What makes this song more captivating is sudden shift in the tempo of the tune and the mood of the song.  Hemachandra sinks into the tune very well like only he can with his husky vocals.

Song 4: Dochestha 
Singer : Nakash Aziz
Lyrics : Chandrabose

The final song in the album is a fast paced number which evokes a festive and celebratory mood, but the there nothing so impressive about the tune. Also, there is nothing much to write home about the lyrics. Singer Nakash Aziz did a decent job with his vocals. It will be NTR’s mesmerising dance moves and glitzy onscreen visuals that are required to bail out this ordinary number.

Note : The fifth song in the album will be released a few days later.

Verdict : All in all, Jai Lava Kusa album falls a little short of expectations, especially after a chartbuster album like Janatha Garage in the DSP – NTR combination. While Raavana and Nee Kallalona are instant hits, the remaining two songs are not upto the mark. The lyrics are ok and the singers did a decent job, but the album falters a bit in terms of novelty in tunes. 5th and dance number that is going to be released in few days may add some more positiveness to this album.

Before getting the nod of Balayya for Paisa Vasool, director Puri Jagannath faced two big rejections, from Megastar Chiranjeevi and NTR Jr. After watching Paisa Vasool, movie lovers say that the senior Mega hero and junior Nandamuri hero were perfectly correct in turning down the mediocre script narrated by Puri. It is heard that Paisa Vasool is the same script that the ‘Pokiri’ maker had narrated to Chiru and NTR.

It may be recalled that before locking Katthi remake, Puri’s ‘Auto Jaani’ was announced as Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback film. The project however was called off, and Chiru himself revealed in an interview that he wasn’t satisfied with the second half narrated by Puri.

After the success of ‘Temper’, NTR gave his word to Puri to work with him in another film. Honoring his word, NTR held rounds of discussions with Puri after Janatha Garage. The director however couldn’t convince the actor with his scripts, the subject of ‘Paisa Vasool’ was one of them.

Balayya on the other hand gave his nod to Puri even without listening to the story. He was so impressed by the hero’s characterization that he didn’t bother about the story, which is a rehash of Puri’s earlier movies, mainly ‘Pokiri’.

Now, as ‘Paisa Vasool’ is in theatres, people can understand why the story was rejected by Chiru and NTR.

When the news of NTR doing a film in Kalyan Ram’s production became official, some people started speculating that the ‘Ism’ actor-producer was banking on his younger brother’s stardom to recover the losses incurred by his production venture ‘Kick 2’. It might well be one of the reasons why Kalyan Ram signed NTR but he surely didn’t take advantage of their affection-filled brotherhood.

Our trusted sources have confirmed that Kalyan Ram paid Rs 14 crore remuneration to Tarak for Jai Lava Kusa. In fact, NTR offered to slash his fee since JLK was his brother’s production venture but Kalyan Ram insisted the ‘Janatha Garage actor’ to take the amount which he generally charges per film. He didn’t take advantage of his brother even though the latter wouldn’t mind.

If we take the cases where star heroes act in films produced by their brothers, uncles, close aides etc. they often go for a pay cut. The producer however shows the bloated budget to buyers in order to get hefty distribution deals. Kalyan Ram is a rare exception to this general practice in Tollywood.

Since we are talking about remunerations, Pawan Kalyan charged Rs 20 crore for his on-the-sets film which is being directed by Trivikram and produced by Radha Krishna of Haarika Hassine creations.
