Employees working in US Consulates across India are specially trained in various Indian languages to ensure that there is no language barrier while they interview Visa applicants daily. All employees are given classes in Foreign Studies Institute to hone their skills in understanding and speaking local languages.

Interacting with a vernacular newspaper, some of the employees of US consulate in Hyderabad revealed interesting facts about how they are trained to understand Telugu.

They said watching Telugu videos in YouTube and Newspaper reading are some of the techniques adopted to get the hang of Telugu language.

Kelly, a senior employee in Hyderabad, said she watched numerous Telugu films to learn the language. She also revealed that Mahesh Babu is her favourite actor and said she insisted the trainers to screen his movies during every session of their classes.
