Nani’s latest film Jersey, an emotional sports drama directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, is having a very good run at the US box office. After taking a slow start on Thursday premiers, the collections showed considerable growth during the weekend due to the strong reviews and encouraging word of mouth in audience. Nani’s commendable performance and the honest portrayal of emotions proved to be the selling point for Jersey.
Jersey opened with a $ 144K on premiers and added a decent $ 260K on Friday in US. As of this writing, the film is doing very well on Saturday with more than $ 300 on cards by the end of the day. Trade circles are expecting a good Sunday all together a great weekend at the US box office as per the current trend. This is a very impressive run for a sports drama considering that it is not a regular entertaining film.
Trade analysts opine that Jersey might not have a huge run at the US box office in the second week due to the release of several Hollywood films.
