Vijayanand is “best performing bureaucrat” in power sector

APGENCO managing director K Vijayanand has been chosen for “Award for Best Performing Bureaucrats Affecting Sector Transformation – STATE of 9th ENERTIA Awards 2015 – India’s & South Asia’s Awards for Sustainable Energy & Power. The Award is given for innovation and individuals excellence in the power sector. Under his leadership APGENCO has achieved best performance in power generation and it has maintained highest PLF with highest availability factor amongst State Utilities. The PLF recorded for the period of 2014-15 was 80.71 per cent which is higher than NTPC PLF reported at 80.23% for the same year, while the average PLF nationwide Thermal Coal Based Power Plant slid to below 60%.
Similarly, the 1992 batch IAS officer, has steered APTRANSCO to the peak level in performance excellence. During his tenure, the TRASCO has achieved the distinct performance against Transmission Utility in the country especially for point of Reliability & Transmission availability, and pitching of Renewable Energy (RE) in Andhra Pradesh. Vijayanand will receive the award on 5th November, 2015 in New Delhi.

AP Genco Performance Highlights for 2014-15

* APGENCO (2810 MW) stood First with 80.71% PLF among all State Sector Power Utilities and against the all India average PFL of 65.11%.
* Thermal stations have achieved annual generation of 22662 MU during 2014-15.
* Hydel stations have archived annual generation of 3846.8 MU during 2014-15.
* Total energy generated was of 26508.89 MU during 2014-15 including generation during the combined period (01.04.2014 to 01.06.2014).
