The shoot of Kalki 2898 AD sequel has commenced and the team completed two schedules. The team is waiting for the arrival of Prabhas who is busy with Fauzi and Spirit. Deepika Padukone who played a crucial role in Kalki 2898 AD was replaced. Speculations are strong that she is replaced with Sai Pallavi but there is no official word. The film’s director Nag Ashwin has responded to the speculations. “Sumathi is an important character of Kalki 2898 AD. Sai Pallavi replacing Deepika Padukone is a speculation and we will announce the name officially very soon. Sumathi is the mother of Kalki and we cannot change the character” told Nag Ashwin.

An interesting news broke out that Alia Bhatt has been finalized for an important role and the actress joined the sets and shot for her portions in Hyderabad recently. Alia Bhatt is not the replacement for Deepika Padukone and she has a prominent role in Kalki 2898 AD Sequel. The team will make an official statement about this at the right time. Vyjayanthi Movies are the producers of Kalki 2898 AD Sequel. Apart from Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan have important roles assigned in Kalki 2898 AD sequel. The film is expected to release next year.
